SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE
A semiconductor device including a plurality of power modules each of which includes a power semiconductor switching element that has a temperature detection diode, and a drive circuit that has an output circuit for switching on and off the power semiconductor switching element, and that outputs a warning signal for calling attention if the value of the forward voltage of the temperature detection diode becomes equal to or smaller than a first reference voltage value, and that outputs a protection operation signal for stopping the on/off operation of the power semiconductor switching element if the value of the forward voltage becomes equal to or smaller than a second reference voltage value smaller than the first reference voltage value. The semiconductor device outputs the logical sum of the warning signals of the individual power modules as an external warning signal.
DRIVE CIRCUIT, LIQUID CRYSTAL DRIVE CONTROLLER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
A gate driver IC includes a first diode, a second diode, a first comparator, a second comparator, and a judgement circuit. The first comparator compares a first potential difference between both ends of the first diode and a first threshold. The second comparator compares a second potential difference between both ends of the second diode and a second threshold. Based on comparison results of the first comparator and the second comparator, the judgement circuit determines occurrence of disconnection.

One or more embodiments include a device, comprising: a controller that includes a variable voltage output coupled to a sensor, wherein the controller provides a voltage segment to the sensor based on a signal of the sensor received at the controller.
Method for estimating a signal property
A method for estimating a property of a signal (1) sensed in an electrical system, comprises the steps of sensing the signal (1) and estimating a fundamental period of a fundamental of the signal (1) by comparing the sensed signal (1) with at least one threshold (2) to detect threshold crossings and estimating the fundamental period from the threshold crossings. The signal property is then estimated from the fundamental period and/or from the sensed signal (1) during an interval of a length of the fundamental period. An electronic device according to the invention comprises a micro controller and/or an analogue circuitry which performs the method for estimating a property of a signal. Preferably, the micro controller and/or analogue circuitry controls other parts of the electronic device depending on the results obtained by the method for estimating a property of a signal.
