A foldable chair includes a lower hub assembly and an upper hub assembly. The lower hub assembly has foldable legs for supporting the chair. The upper hub assembly has a plurality of bars, and webbing mounted on the bars. The bars are movable so that the webbing can be folded and unfolded. The webbing provides a seating area when unfolded. The chair also includes a center shaft assembly that facilitates tilting and swiveling of the seating area in relation to the lower hub assembly.

The present invention provides a chair having a swing motion function and a swing module for use therein, the chair comprising: a leg module formed to be supported on the floor; a seat module disposed above the leg module and formed to support the body of a user; and a swing module configured to connect the leg module and the seat module and swing the seat module to both sides of the user with reference to the leg module as the user sitting on the seat module moves from side to side, wherein the swing module comprises: a lower fixed unit coupled to the leg module; an upper moving unit coupled to the seat module; and a link unit having a lower connection end rotatably connected to the lower fixed unit and an upper connection end rotatably connected to the upper moving unit so as to allow the upper moving unit to swing about the lower fixed unit.

A chair support shell has an integral back portion, seat portion, and joining portion between the back portion and the seat portion. At least a major portion of the support shell comprises a compliant structure, the compliant structure having a plurality of cells interconnected by a plurality of resilient members. The compliant structure provides compliance in the seat portion, compliance in the back portion, and compliance in the joining portion. The compliant structure enables recline of the back portion relative to the seat portion.

A recliner or lift and recliner chair is provided having a recline or lift and recline chair mechanism with preferably with at least one recline or lift-recline actuator that controls a reclining movement or a lifting and reclining movement. The chair mechanism has a recline or lift-recline base, a seat and a back connected thereto. For additional functionality, a cradle assembly is provided in order to provide a cradling movement to the recline or lift-recline base. The cradle assembly can be provided by a system of standoffs and pivot connections, which can be direct or use links, or can be configured with a track and roller or slide system in order to achieve a desired cradling movement. A cradle actuator is connected between the cradle base and the recline or lift-recline base. A controller is provided that controls movement of the cradle actuator and preferably at least one recline or lift-recline actuator.

A seat includes a support having a first coupling hole and a second coupling hole disposed therein. The seat also includes a seat cradle having a back, a bottom, a first side fixedly connected to the back and the bottom, and a second side fixedly connected to the back and the bottom. The seat cradle has a neutral position in which a top portion of the back is positioned forward of a bottom portion of the back, and a rear portion of the bottom is positioned below a forward position of the bottom. The seat also has a first cradle coupler extending from the first side of the seat cradle, such that the first cradle coupler cannot rotate with respect to the first side. The seat further includes a second cradle coupler extending from the second side of the seat cradle, such that the second cradle coupler cannot rotate with respect to the second side. The first cradle coupler is received in the first coupling hole and the second cradle coupler is received in the second coupling hole.
