Method and apparatus for controlling the power supply from an electric vehicle to a dwelling or to an AC power distribution network

A method for managing the operation of an AC power distribution network to which connect a plurality of electric vehicles, at random times and at random locations to receive electrical energy for charging. The AC power distribution network is characterized by a dynamic state of balance between power generation and load, and it has an operating reserve which is a supplemental power generation capacity available to the AC power distribution network. The method includes the step of forecasting a power-supply contribution that would be available to the AC power distribution network from the electric vehicles connected to the AC power distribution network in the event the AC power distribution network experiences a state of imbalance resulting from a power-generation deficit. The method further includes adjusting the magnitude of the operating reserve on the basis of the forecasting.

Method for detecting a sag in a phase voltage, including the steps of: measuring, upstream of a switching member and at regular intervals, the phase voltage and a phase current flowing through a phase conductor; when the phase voltage falls below a predetermined voltage threshold, opening the switching member; subsequent to opening the switching member, if the phase voltage returns to a normal voltage value defined according to the phase current, detecting a malfunction of the electricity meter, generating a warning message, and keeping the switching member open; subsequent to opening the switching member, if the phase voltage remains below the predetermined voltage threshold, detecting a sag in the phase voltage, generating an alert message, and closing the switching member.

DEEP CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK BASED ANOMALY DETECTION FOR TRANSACTIVE ENERGY SYSTEMS
20200218973 · 2020-07-09 ·

A computer-implemented method for power grid anomaly detection using a convolutional neural network (CNN) trained to detect anomalies in electricity demand data and electricity supply data includes receiving (i) electricity demand data comprising time series measurements of consumption of electricity by a plurality of consumers, and (ii) electricity supply data comprising time series measurements of availability of electricity by one or more producers. An input matrix is generated that comprises the electricity demand data and the electricity supply data. The CNN is applied to the input matrix to yield a probability of anomaly in the electricity demand data and the electricity supply data. If the probability of anomaly is above a threshold value, an alert message is generated for one or more system operators.

A method for detecting charging current curves for electric vehicles at charging stations. In the method, a charging current curve is captured at a charging station, and the charging current curve is stored together with a vehicle identification of the charging vehicle. For each respective vehicle identification, a charging current curve at a plurality of charging stations is stored, and for the respective vehicle identification, a present charging current curve can be compared with the stored charging current curves at the plurality of charging stations. In the event of a deviation of the present charging current curve from the stored charging current curves at the plurality of charging stations which is greater than a threshold, a signal is output.
