Utility monitoring device, system and method

A monitoring device, system and method are provided for in-home/on-premises monitoring of usage of utilities, such as electricity and other services. The monitoring device receives information from a smart meter, and displays usage through a display, illuminating an area using a colour indicative of the current cost of consumption, and varying the illuminated area at a rate indicative of a rate of consumption or other metric, the varying of the illuminated area simulating movement in the display. The display provides a consumer with at a glance visual information on current usage. Optionally a digital display screen provides detailed alphanumeric and graphical information, through a number of selectable display modes. One or more devices may be networked, and interface directly or indirectly with a transceiver of a smart metering system, or a retrofit transceiver for a conventional meter. Monitoring of other utilities and services may alternatively or additionally be provided.

A method for evaluating measurement values of an energy system is provided, wherein the energy system includes components which are interconnected by energy flows. Measurement values are available for only a portion of the energy flows. Values are calculated for at least some energy flows for which no measurement values are available by successively considering different subsystems of the energy system, and in each subsystem a value is calculated for one or more energy flows.

Electricity meter assembly for open and short circuit detection

The present invention relates to an electricity meter assembly including a sensor module to connect to an electrical system, a meter, and a removable expansion module. The sensor module receives voltage and current signals, generating corresponding measurement signals. The meter's measurement module processes these signals, generating energy consumption data and determining short and open circuit conditions. The removable expansion module, guided by the meter, produces a detection current of a specific frequency, distinct from the electrical system's signals. Also disclosed is a specific configuration of the removable expansion module, designed to attach to a power meter, with components for control, generation, and transmission of specific AC signals.

Intelligent electric meter digital manufacturing platform based on intelligent manufacturing

An intelligent electric meter digital manufacturing platform based on intelligent manufacturing includes: an electric push rod fixedly disposed in a frame and a testing machine disposed on the electric push rod. The testing machine includes a box fixedly disposed on a telescopic shaft of the electric push rod and a testing component disposed in the box. A first pulley drives two ends of a pulling rope to move from a middle end of a side wall of the pulling rope through driving of a servo motor. This makes an end of the pulling rope pull a testing probe to move upwards, the other end of the pulling rope pull the other testing probe to move downwards, allowing it move to a bottom of the box. This design avoids affecting testing efficiency due to the need to replace or maintain the testing probes, facilitating subsequent testing of an intelligent electric meter.

Method for collecting data in a network, sensor, consumption meter, temporary receiver and network

A method collects data in a network having a consumption meter as part of a supply network and containing a sensor. The sensor contains a measuring element which provides raw measurement data corresponding to a physical or physicochemical value or parameter. The sensor contains a communication device and a memory. For the determination of the measurement resolution of the sensor the conditions for generating time stampings using a correlation model are determined in advance. On a basis of the correlation model, time stampings of successive raw measurement data in the sensor are generated, the time stampings are stored in the memory. The time stampings are transmitted over a wired connection and/or a radio link so that on the basis of the time stampings using the correlation model the raw measurement data collected by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated. Whereas raw measurement data is used for on-demand network analysis.

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for configuring metering devices with out-of-the-box functionality via a batch configuration tool, designed to streamline the configuration of power meters and communication devices within a networked environment. The system leverages a sophisticated batch configuration tool installed on a computing device, enabling the simultaneous configuration of multiple metering devices. This tool facilitates the rapid deployment of these devices by pre-configuring them with predefined operational parameters, including settings necessary for measuring electrical power consumption and facilitating data transmission, The interconnection of these metering devices through a network with a computing device allows for efficient, centralized management and deployment, ensuring that the devices are ready for immediate operational use. This invention addresses the need for a more efficient, reliable, and user-friendly approach to pre-configure metering devices before deployment.

Power distribution system having a network of smart meters

A power distribution system comprises a first Smart Meter device for metering the power absorbed or yielded by a domestic utility, in which said first Smart Meter device is connected to a power distribution grid and dialogs in real time with other Smart Meters connected to other domestic utilities, in which said other Smart Meters are connected to the same power grid of said first Smart Meter device, in which said power distribution system is provided with multiple and comprehensive interconnections which connect said first Smart Meter device to the other Smart Meter nodes so as to form a network, in which the information on the energy production and consumption status of the network is available in each Smart Meter node of the network at all times, thus allowing the information on the energy status of the network to be instantaneously available to an operator of the power grid by querying a single Smart Meter among those present in the network.
