ELECTRICAL MEASURING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SYSTEM
An electrical measuring system of a six-port circuit includes a delay line and a arithmetic unit. In a first operating mode, an electrical signal can be on the one hand transmitted directly to a first input terminal and on the other hand via the delay line to a second input terminal of the six-port circuit. In an embodiment, the measuring system is configured such that, in the second operating mode, it does not supply a signal to the first input terminal of the six-port circuit and it supplies a reference signal to the second input terminal of the six-port circuit.
System and method for detecting a fundamental frequency of an electric power system
A system and method to detect the fundamental frequency of an electric input signal using a feedback control loop including a phase error detector, a loop controller, and a digitally controlled oscillator. The frequency detector may detect the fundamental frequency of an electric input signal and produce an output signal representing the fundamental frequency of the electric input signal. The frequency detector may further include a filter that may be coupled to the frequency detector output signal in order to remove spurious tones or noise from the output signal.
Calibration for test and measurement instrument including asynchronous time-interleaved digitizer using harmonic mixing
A test and measurement instrument includes a coefficient storage facility coupled to a programmable filter. The coefficient storage facility is configured to store at least two pre-determined filter coefficient sets, and configured to pass a selected one of the at least two pre-determined filter coefficient sets to the filter based on a measurement derived using a compensation oscillator. The measurement may include clock delay and clock skew. In some examples the test and measurement instrument may additionally adjust clock delay and/or clock skew in addition to selecting appropriate filter coefficients.
Circuit for determining the frequency of a signal
According to various embodiments, a circuit for determining the frequency of a signal is described, comprising an input configured to receive an analog input signal, an analog to digital converter configured to convert the analog input signal to a digital input signal, a digital mixer configured to generate a mixing result signal by mixing the digital input signal with a single bit binary signal having a reference frequency, a low pass filter configured to generate a filtered signal by filtering the mixing result signal, a measuring circuit configured to measure the period of the filtered signal and an output configured to output a value differing from the frequency of the single bit binary signal by the inverse of the measured period as the frequency to be determined.
