SEATING DEVICE
A seating device includes a base and a seat post extending from the base. The seat post has a first end adjacent the base, a second end opposite the first end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the first end and the second end. The seating device further includes a seat supported by the seat post above the base and a first rocking assembly coupled to the base and the first end of the seat post. The first rocking assembly is operable to angularly displace the seat post relative to the base. The seating device further includes a second rocking assembly coupled to the seat and the second end of the seat post. The second rocking assembly is operable to angularly displace the seat relative to the seat post.

A piece of furniture comprises a seat, a backrest and a base. At least the seat and the base are movably coupled for reversible relative adjustment in a direction from a first configuration for sitting upright to a second configuration for sitting reclined. One or more support surfaces and a lever are operably coupled to support the seat on the base. The lever rotates about an axis transverse to the seating direction and moves being coupled with the one or more support surfaces at a first support portion defining first lever arm about the axis and a second, different, support portion defining a second, different, lever arm about the axis. The one or more support surfaces define a curved, noncircular path about the axis, such that relative displacement of the support surface and the axis in the seating direction is associated with rotation of the lever about the axis.

A piece of furniture comprises a seat, a backrest and a base. At least the seat and the base are movably coupled for reversible relative adjustment in a direction from a first configuration for sitting upright to a second configuration for sitting reclined. One or more support surfaces and a lever are operably coupled to support the seat on the base. The lever rotates about an axis transverse to the seating direction and moves being coupled with the one or more support surfaces at a first support portion defining first lever arm about the axis and a second, different, support portion defining a second, different, lever arm about the axis. A rocker recliner is disclosed that has a pair of stationary arms; a seat disposed between the arms; an ottoman; a back coupled to the seat. A full-recline linkage mechanism couples the ottoman, the seat and the back and is operable to move the ottoman, the seat and the back between a closed position, a TV position and a fully reclined position. A rocker assembly is coupled between the full-recline linkage mechanism and the stationary arms that allows the seat, back and ottoman to rock between the stationary arms in at least one of the closed position, the TV position or the fully reclined position.
Rocking furniture member with power synchronous mechanism
A furniture member may include a seat base, a seat assembly, a legrest platform, a drive rod, and a sequencing mechanism. The seat assembly is movable relative to the seat base. The legrest platform is coupled to the seat assembly. The drive rod is rotatable relative to the seat assembly, and rotation of the drive rod causes the seat assembly and the legrest platform to move. The sequencing mechanism includes a cam that is attached to the drive rod and a follower wheel that is attached to the seat assembly. The cam is configured to prevent the seat assembly from moving between a first recline position and a second recline position while the seat assembly moves between first and second tilt positions and while the legrest platform moves between first and second legrest positions.
Rocking furniture member with power synchronous mechanism
A furniture member may include a seat base, a seat assembly, a legrest platform, a drive rod, and a sequencing mechanism. The seat assembly is movable relative to the seat base. The legrest platform is coupled to the seat assembly. The drive rod is rotatable relative to the seat assembly, and rotation of the drive rod causes the seat assembly and the legrest platform to move. The sequencing mechanism includes a cam that is attached to the drive rod and a follower wheel that is attached to the seat assembly. The cam is configured to prevent the seat assembly from moving between a first recline position and a second recline position while the seat assembly moves between first and second tilt positions and while the legrest platform moves between first and second legrest positions.
POWERED ROCKING OR GLIDING FURNITURE PIECE
A powered rocking or gliding furniture piece includes a base frame and a movable furniture assembly. The movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece is configured to rock or glide about the base frame. A powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame. A connecting member is on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. Linkage is connected between the powered motor or linear actuator affixed to the base frame and the connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. The linkage is configured to translate movement from the powered motor or linear actuator to the movable furniture assembly for rocking or gliding the movable furniture assembly about the base frame.

A powered rocking or gliding furniture piece includes a base frame and a movable furniture assembly. The movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece is configured to rock or glide about the base frame. A powered motor or linear actuator is affixed to the base frame. A connecting member is on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. Linkage is connected between the powered motor or linear actuator affixed to the base frame and the connecting member on the movable furniture assembly of the powered rocking or gliding furniture piece. The linkage is configured to translate movement from the powered motor or linear actuator to the movable furniture assembly for rocking or gliding the movable furniture assembly about the base frame.
