Dual ground breaker testing system
A system for testing substation circuit breakers while the circuit breakers are grounded on both sides using a ground clamp probe electrically connected to one side of the circuit breaker contacts, where the ground clamp probe provides a means of interfacing standard test equipment to the circuit breaker without removing either safety ground, and analyzing the circuit breaker and outputting the results to a technician on a display.
Method and apparatus for the measurement of a resistance of a switching contact of an electrical circuit breaker
An apparatus and method for the measurement of a resistance of a switching contact of an electrical circuit breaker. A first resistance value across the circuit breaker is determined while the circuit breaker is grounded at both sides and the switching contact is closed. Further, a second resistance value across the circuit breaker is determined while the circuit breaker is grounded at both sides and the switching contact is open. The resistance of the closed switching contact is then determined based on the first resistance value and the second resistance value.

PLUGGABLE LOAD MODULE TO TEST A VOLTAGE REGULATOR
A test device for testing the invariability of the output voltage of a voltage regulator with transient loads, and the test device includes a switch connected with a switch drain contact to an output contact of the voltage regulator and with a switch source contact to ground potential, where a load resistance is arranged within this path from the output contact to ground potential, a switch driver connected with a switch driver output contact via a gate resistance to a switch gate contact to change the switch into a connected state, where the voltage regulator is loaded with a variable drain-source resistance of the switch and the load resistor, and to change the switch into a disconnected state, where the voltage regulator is disconnected from the load resistor, and a feedback resistor connected between the switch source contact and an inverted input contact of the switch driver.
Monitoring Electrical Contactor Health
A method of monitoring contactor health for an electrical contactor of an electric apparatus, the electrical contactor being switchable in a switching event between an open state and a closed state or between a closed state and an open state. In response to a switching event instruction the method comprises determining a current value indicative of current flowing in the electrical contactor in the closed state at a time proximate to the switching event; attributing a percentage of a total contactor life estimate to the switching event based on the current value; determining an updated remaining percentage contactor life estimate by subtracting the percentage of total contactor life estimate from an initial remaining percentage contactor life estimate; and outputting the updated remaining percentage contactor life estimate.

Testing system that determines contact erosion in circuit breaker
A testing system includes a truck carrying a circuit breaker, a fixed contact, and an actuator piston connected to a movable contact. A test platform supports the truck in a contact testing position and includes a sensor circuit mounted on the test platform and positioned under the truck and aligned with the circuit breaker when the truck is on the test platform in the contact testing position. The sensor circuit is configured to acquire displacement data of the actuator piston when the movable electrical contact is moved between the open and closed positions. A controller is coupled to the sensor circuit and configured to receive the displacement data and determine electrical contact erosion within the circuit breaker.
WIRELESS PROVISION OF INFORMATION FROM SWITCH FUNCTION TESTS
A switch arrangement contains a switch and is configured to perform a test directed to an aspect of the functionality of the switch, to store data relating to the performed test in a local memory apparatus and to respond to a request for data pertaining to one or more performed tests that is transmitted by use of a first protocol for wireless communication by transferring data pertaining to performed tests, which data are stored in the memory apparatus, by one or more messages to a receiver specified by the request. The test permits improved and more efficient analysis of the behavior of switches.
METHOD FOR ESTIMATING A TRIP INTENSITY OF A CIRCUIT BREAKER, SYSTEM, ASSEMBLY, AND ASSOCIATED COMPUTER PROGRAM
This invention relates to a method for estimating a trip intensity of a circuit breaker, the circuit breaker being configured to switch from an armed configuration to a tripped configuration, a trip current, with an intensity equal to the trip intensity, flowing in the circuit breaker when same switches to the tripped configuration, the switching of the circuit breaker to the tripped configuration generating a sound, representative of the trip intensity, the method comprising at least the following steps: acquisition (102) of an output signal (S.sub.o) emitted by a microphone, the output signal being representative of the sound generated by the circuit breaker when same switches to the tripped configuration; calculation (108) of a plurality of metrics from the output signal (S.sub.o); and determination (110) of a trip intensity class via an artificial intelligence model, the trip intensity class being chosen among a plurality of predetermined trip intensity classes.
Device and method for diagnosing damage to switch in battery protection circuit, and battery management device comprising same
