Cross spectral impedance assessment for cell qualification
A method for screening and matching cells for qualification and binning can include conducting a first and second impedance-based measurement of a cell separated by a rest interval of the cell and analyzing change/shift in the impedance spectrum obtained before and after the rest interval to afford algorithms to match, categorize, or group cells within a plurality of cells (C.sub.1 . . . C.sub.n) that have the same, substantially the same, or fall within a range of structural or functional parameters based on the impedance change/shift in the impedance spectrum.

Method of stopping operation of fuel cell system
A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell stack of a plurality of power generation cells and an impedance measuring device for measuring the impedance in the fuel cell stack. When stopping the operation of the fuel cell system, a method for stopping the operation of the fuel cell system operates the plurality of power generation cells to generate electric power, until the impedance value becomes equal to or greater than an objective impedance value. After the impedance value has become equal to or greater than the objective impedance value, the operation stopping method still continues the power generation of the multiple power generation cells for a given period of time.

Fast Charging Method
A method for fast charging from an initial charge state SOC.sub.0 to a predefined target charge state SOC.sub.target is provided. Optimized fast charging conditions are determined using impedance measurements or impedance spectroscopy (EIS) of a battery system which includes a plurality of lithium ion cells. Units consisting of individual cells or of blocks of cells connected in parallel are connected in series, and devices for measuring the voltage and at least one component of the impedance of these cell units are also provided.

Production of a Quality Test System
Various embodiments include a method for producing a quality test system executing a quality test model with a filter mask and a quality model to determine a quality feature of a battery cell. The system has an electrochemical impedance spectroscopic unit for capturing test data relating to the battery within a frequency range. The method includes: creating the model; and producing the system. Creating the model includes: capturing spectroscopic learning data; creating the filter mask using a first machine learning method with analysis data from part of the frequency range by consulting the filter mask and creating the model using a second machine learning method. The first and the second learning method are coupled based on the learning data. The first machine learning method creates a filter mask determining the analysis data such that the second machine learning method creates a quality model optimized with respect to maximizing the quality.
