An audio system includes an H-bridge. The audio system implements one or more techniques for ensuring a transistor within the H-bridge does not turn on in the event of the detection of a short-circuit on the output of the H-bridge. Other transistors within the H-bridge can turn and thus audio can still be played to a speaker.

In an example, a method can include controlling the at least two parallel-connected power switches via a first driver and a second driver, the first a second driver responsive to a single command signal, measuring a failure characteristic of a first power switch, and disabling a first driver of the first power switch when the first failure characteristic exceeds a failure precursor threshold.

AC/DC LEAKAGE DETECTION METHOD

An AC/DC leakage detection method, which supports the detection of DC leakage and AC leakage. A DC leakage current and a low-frequency leakage current are measured by means of magnetic modulation technology, an AC signal is measured in the form of pure induction, and two detection modes are performed in a time-sharing manner. A collected leakage signal is converted into a digital signal through an AD converter. By means of the method of the present invention, the processing of a leakage signal is divided into three channels for respectively processing DC leakage, low-frequency AC leakage, and high-frequency AC leakage. The overall effective value of residual current is calculated by integrating results of DC detection and AC detection. The method of the present invention supports the detection of a suddenly increased current; and when there is a suddenly increased current, detection mode switching is performed by detecting the current sudden change of the current.

A large current flowing when energization by normal load drive control is performed at the time of a load short-circuit is prevented. A load drive device 100 includes drive switches 61 and 62 that turn on or off the current supplied from a power source to a load 70, a switch drive circuit 20 that transmits a drive signal to the drive switches 61 and 62 based on a control command from an arithmetic device 10, and a constant current source 40 that supplies the current to the load 70 without passing through the drive switches 61 and 62. Then, the switch drive circuit 20 performs control so as not to turn on either the drive switches 61 or 62 when the voltage between both ends of the load 70 becomes equal to or less than the determination value in a state where the drive switches 61 and 62 are turned off and in a state where the current is supplied from the constant current source 40 to the load 70.

First voltage an output unit generates a cyclic voltage that changes cyclically, and applies the cyclic voltage to the other end of a coupling capacitor via a first resistance. A second resistance and a third resistance are connected in series between a node and a second voltage output unit, the node being between the coupling capacitor and the first resistance. A voltage measurement unit measures a voltage at a voltage dividing point between the second resistance and the third resistance. In a period in which two types of fixed voltages are applied to the voltage dividing point in order, a diagnosing unit determines whether a leakage detecting device is in a normal state, based on the voltage measured by the voltage measurement unit.

A diagnostic voltage or current path can be used for each MEMS actuator control channel to detect and diagnose faults in the actuator control signal path. Multiple measurement points provide additional capabilities of isolating faults among multiple subassemblies or components in the control signal path. The diagnostic voltage or current path uses ADC(s) and multiplexers to monitor multiple control channels and/or multiple measurement points in each control channel. Digitized voltages, or currents in the case of magnetic actuators, read from the diagnostic ADC are compared to expected values to detect and isolate faults.
