An electric utility distribution system in which power is supplied by a distribution transformer through an electric utility meter including an apparatus for detecting the presence of a back-feed voltage source connected to the load. The apparatus includes a virtual neutral established in the electric utility meter at ground potential and a remote switch that is opened to interrupt electric power flow from the distribution transformer to the load. The apparatus further includes a balanced voltage divider circuit including a connection point established between a pair of series connected resistive elements. In addition, the apparatus includes a detection circuit configured to monitor a voltage signal at the connection point to detect a back-feed voltage source connected between a neutral conductor of the electric utility distribution system and one of a first or second power line at the load.

DETERMINING STATES OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT USING VARIATIONS IN DIAGNOSTIC PARAMETER PREDICTION ERROR
20230273269 · 2023-08-31 ·

Embodiments are disclosed for determining states of electrical equipment using diagnostic parameter prediction error. A prediction error value is determined for a plurality of predicted diagnostic parameter values over a predetermined time period for at least one component of an electrical equipment. The prediction error value suppresses variations observed in behavior of the at least one component. The determined prediction error value is compared to an expected prediction error value. An indication of a state of the at least one component is selectively generated based on the comparison.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE OVERLOAD CAPACITY OF A HIGH-VOLTAGE DEVICE

A method determines an overload capacity of at least one high-voltage device. In which method, measurement values are continuously recorded by sensors located in or on the high-voltage device. The measurement values and/or values derived therefrom are transmitted via a near field communication connection from the sensors to a communication unit of the high-voltage device. The communication unit is connected to a data processing cloud. For high-voltage devices, a load forecast request is created for a predetermined time-period and is transmitted to a data processing cloud. For each high-voltage device, a state parameter is determined in part based on the measurement values. The load forecast request and each state parameter are transmitted at a request time to a load forecasting model; and the load forecasting model determines the maximum load in the predetermined time period.
