Enhanced indoor localization method

The present invention relates to a method for indoor localization of a user equipped with a localization device having electromagnetic signal receiver means and means for detecting the orientation in a predetermined spatial reference system, wherein the indoor space is divided up into a plurality of rooms each of which includes a plurality of spatial volumes or areas, nodes, which are connected together in a directed-graph arrangement, and wherein a plurality of radio transmitters each designed to emit a respective localization signal are arranged inside this space. The method is based on the synergic use of three localization methods, i.e. fingerprinting, inertial navigation with intelligent step recognition and proximity localization.

Energy, data and information is obtained about the state of the electromagnetic spectrum and the nature of terrestrial transmissions through the use of a remote spectrum sensing system. The disclosure comprises at least one satellite in orbit around Earth capable of sensing frequencies in use by terrestrial transmitters such as those used for radiocommunication or radiodetermination services. In addition, various processing functions are applied to the collected energy, data and information before and/or after they are relayed to at least one ground station in order to reveal a greater understanding of the state of the spectrum and nature of transmissions. The disclosure relates to the described system in multiple embodiments and the method for obtaining energy, data and information about terrestrially used spectrum with such a system.

Systems and methods of muster with beacons and gateways

Systems for muster include an entrance receiving device in a location adapted to receive a plurality of beacon broadcasts from one or more of a plurality of mobile beacons, each associated with a worker and broadcasting an identification ID of the worker, to create an on-site record of workers entering or exiting the location. The system includes a muster site receiving device at a muster site to record an identification ID from beacon broadcasts of workers at the muster site. The on-site record is compared to the recorded muster site IDs to determine if all workers have mustered. Alarms may be triggered if not.

USE OF GESTURE-BASED NFC INTERACTION TO TRIGGER DEVICE FUNCTIONALITY

An automated method is provided for activating a NFC application in a mobile interface device. In this method, the device receives from a beacon a wireless beacon signal comprising at least one beacon identifier. The wireless beacon signal is processed by the mobile interface device to determine the at least one beacon identifier. The mobile interface device determines based on the at least one beacon identifier, whether to activate the NFC application. Responsive to a determination that the NFC application should be activated, the mobile interface device transitions the NFC application from a passive state to an active state. NFC communication is then established between the mobile interface device and at least one NFC transmitting device disposed within a beacon range volume defined by the beacon location and the beacon range.

Facial location determination

A method of determining facial location and orientation may include receiving a location of a first radio frequency (RF) tag on a subject; receiving a location of a second RF tag on the subject; determining a location and orientation of a face of the subject using at least the location of the first RF tag and the location of the second RF tag; and sending commands to one or more camera units. The commands may cause the one or more camera units to capture the location and orientation of the face of the subject.

ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION, LOCATION TRACKING, COMMUNICATION & NOTIFICATION SYSTEM WITH BEACON CLUSTERING

A system and method for identifying a customer's location at a business and provide notification to a company representative upon arrival of the customer at the business location. Real-time location determinations for the customer and customer location tracking can be provided. One or more wireless beacons communicate with the customer's electronic device. The beacons provide the system with real-time data about the customer's whereabouts, allowing for the confirmation and tracking of the customer at the location. A first non-limiting example of use, include a company that provides food and beverage allowing the customer to place an order for food and beverages on their electronic device and having the order delivered to the person at their current location as determined by the system. Another non-limiting example includes a company using the notification system to have assigned staff members notified of the customer's arrival.
