Emergency radio beacon remote activation system
Provided is a system 10 for remote activation of an emergency radio beacon by a Search and Rescue (SAR) party, the system 10 comprising a controller 12 operatively arranged in signal communication with an emergency radio beacon 14, a positioning module 16 arranged in signal communication with the controller 12 and configured to operatively provide spatial positioning data to the controller 12, and a receiver 18 arranged in signal communication with the controller 12 and configured to operatively receive an activation signal 20. The controller 12 is configured to activate the beacon 14 upon receipt of the activation signal 20 and to provide the spatial positioning data of a potentially lost or distressed party to the beacon 14 for transmission along with an emergency signal 22.

Tracking device presence detection and reporting by access points
A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.

A tracking system determines a location of a tracking device associated with a user using one or more access points at the location. Each access point at the location is configured to detect and couple with the tracking device when the tracking device is within a communicative range of the access point. An access point provides updates on the tracking device's presence, as well as the tracking device's arrival to and departure from the communicative range of the access point, to a tracking server. The tracking server determines, from these updates, whether the tracking device is at the location. The user may be notified, via a mobile device, of the tracking device's location.

The monitored characteristics can be used to identify whether the barrier device is installed correctly or is no longer installed correctly and/or to identify conditions associated with use of the barrier device when installed, including at least one of a temperature associated with the barrier device, presence of water in the barrier device, air flow associated with the barrier device, stress and strains placed on the barrier device, and occupied inner volume (including an amount of change) of the barrier device.

A number of receiving stations are provided that are at least a multiple of the number of transmitting stations. At least two receiving stations receive electromagnetic waves and/or sound waves and an evaluation device detects for flying object positions by evaluating emitted and received electromagnetic waves or sound waves, for example, using transit time determination. The wind farm aircraft beacon system also comprises a switching device for switching at least one of the aircraft beacon devices on or off on the basis of the flying object positions.

A system for tracking carts in a shopping space comprises: a sound sensor array, a cart location database storing location information and sound profiles associated with a plurality of shopping cart identifiers, and a control circuit configured to: identify a cart sound made by a movement of a shopping cart traveling in the shopping space, determine a current location of the shopping cart based on the cart sound, match the shopping cart to a shopping cart identifier in the cart location database, update the location information associated the shopping cart identifier in the cart location database based on the current location of the shopping cart; and update the sound profile of the shopping cart identifier based on the cart sound captured by the sound sensor array.
