TRANSMITTING POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNALS
Systems and methods are disclosed herein that relate wireless device positioning based on cell portion specific Positioning Reference Signals (PRSs) by multiple Transmit Points (TPs) in a shared cell. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a TP in a cellular communications network is provided. The TP is one of multiple of non-co-located TPs of a shared cell that has a shared cell identifier. The method of operation of the TP comprises transmitting a PRS having at least one parameter that is a function of a cell portion identifier of the TP, where the at least one parameter comprises a frequency-shift of the PRS, a portion of a system bandwidth in which the PRS is transmitted, and/or a PRS sequence used for the PRS. By transmitting cell-portion-specific PRSs, the TPs in the shared cell enable wireless device positioning based on PRSs transmitted by the non-co-located TPs.
DISPLAY DEVICE, RECEPTION DEVICE, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING RECEPTION DEVICE
An HMD includes a beacon reception unit that receives a beacon signal and a control unit that controls a reception period of the beacon reception unit and intermittently receives a beacon signal. The control unit selects the beacon signal based on a reception strength of the beacon signal received by the beacon reception unit and changes a reception period of the beacon signal reception unit in accordance with a transmission timing of the selected beacon signal.
ELECTRONIC IDENTIFICATION, LOCATION TRACKING, COMMUNICATION & NOTIFICATION SYSTEM WITH BEACON CLUSTERING
A system and method for identifying a customer's location at a business and provide notification to a company representative upon arrival of the customer at the business location. Real-time location determinations for the customer and customer location tracking can be provided. One or more wireless beacons communicate with the customer's electronic device. The beacons provide the system with real-time data about the customer's whereabouts, allowing for the confirmation and tracking of the customer at the location. A first non-limiting example of use, include a company that provides food and beverage allowing the customer to place an order for food and beverages on their electronic device and having the order delivered to the person at their current location as determined by the system. Another non-limiting example includes a company using the notification system to have assigned staff members notified of the customer's arrival.
DOWNED AIRCRAFT LOCATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
An EM emitter includes at least three orthogonal coils driven by an oscillating voltage source, with the coils being electrically in parallel or series. When used in a vehicle, particularly an airplane, and the vehicle is lost, e.g., sinks, the emitter's EM signal passes through water with little attenuation and can be detected and the vehicle located.

Mobile computing and communication
An application development platform enables applications to be created easily for, e.g., mobile devices that have short-range wireless communication capability. The development platform exposes a carefully chosen core set of services through an API. Each of the applications can broadcast its services to local and remote devices. Message delivery between devices is guaranteed even for messages that cannot be delivered directly by local short-range wireless transmission. Message delivery through other channels, including the Internet, can occur transparently to the user. Each device can be associated with an owner, which can be a person or a entity. Services can be customized to the owner based on stored information that maps owners to devices. Information associated with each of the owners of devices can be stored centrally and used in connection with providing the services at each of the mobile devices. Virtual GPS capabilities can be provided for mobile devices that do not have GPS chips.

Apparatus and method for providing payment service based on beacon in beacon service system
An apparatus and method are proposed for providing a beacon-based payment service in a beacon service system including a point of sales (POS) device for payment and a user device using a beacon service application. The apparatus may include a beacon module configured to emit a beacon signal, and an input module configured to receive a user input for triggering the beacon-based payment service. The apparatus may further include a POS control unit configured to identify predetermined strength of a beacon signal when an event for triggering the beacon-based payment service occurs, to control emission of the beacon signal with the identified strength through the beacon module, to detect whether a user device accesses content regarding the emitted beacon signal, and to control retransmission of the beacon signal through the beacon module by increasing the strength of the beacon signal by a predetermined value if there is no access to the content.
