Chair assembly with upholstery covering
A seating unit component assembly comprises a support component that includes a first surface adapted to abut a seated user, a second surface opposite the first surface, a first end surface, a second end surface opposite the first end surface, and a pair of side surfaces extending between the first and second end surfaces, and a cover having a plurality of sides that cooperate to form an interior space that receives the support component therein, wherein the cover includes a first portion comprising a non-fabric substantially flexible thermoplastic material covering at least a portion of at least one of the side surfaces of the support component, a second portion comprising a fabric covering at least a portion of the first surface and at least a portion of the first end surface of the support component, and a third portion comprising a substantially rigid overlay covering at least a portion of the second end surface and at least a portion of the second surface.
CHAIR
A folding chair may include a frame that is configured to transition the folding chair between use and storage positions. A seat base may be pivotally coupled thereto at a first particular length from a front end and a receiving portion may be disposed in an upper surface. The receiving portion may include left and right lateral edges, front and rear longitudinal edges, and a depth. The padding material may be disposed in the receiving portion and may have a lateral dimension related to a distance between the front and the rear longitudinal edges, a longitudinal dimension related to a distance between the front and the rear longitudinal edges, and a thickness related to the depth. The padding layer may cover a majority of a top surface of the padding material and of the upper surface. The cover may retain the padding material and the padding layer relative to the seat base.
Discoloration resistant fabric
A vinyl fabric includes a polymeric film supported on a substrate. The polymeric film is provided from a composition that includes one or more chlorinated resins (particularly PVC), at least one polymeric plasticizer, large amounts of TiO.sub.2, and at least one antioxidant. The combination of the plasticizer, titania and antioxidant provides the film, and in turn the fabric, with improved resistance to discoloration, particularly pink staining as results from the presence of chromophores produced by Streptoverticillium reticulum.
Chair arm assembly
A chair assembly includes a base assembly, a seat assembly having a pair of side edges and a fore-to-aft extending longitudinal centerline, a back assembly movable between upright and reclined positions, and an arm assembly including an arm base extending from a first location between the side edges to a second location laterally outward of one of the side edges, wherein the arm base extends at an acute angle with respect to the longitudinal centerline and at an upward angle from the first location toward the second location, a support assembly supported by and extending upwardly from the arm base, and an armrest supported by the support assembly that is adjustable to support the armrest between a plurality of selected vertical positions, wherein the arm assembly and back assembly move at a different rate from one another as the back assembly is moved between the upright and reclined positions.
Furniture construction with elastic or spring modules
Furniture is assembled from elastic modules enabling rapid and convenient assembly and disassembly. The elastic module has a spring, an outer covering layer, and an end member attached to an end face of the outer covering layer. A mattress includes a plurality of individual spring assemblies (145), with each spring assembly including at least one spring (134) and a spring cap (144, 150, 161, 164, 171, 184, 194, 204). Each spring cap has at least one first attachment fitting (168, 178, 174, 186, 196) and at least one second attachment fitting (169, 180, 176, 187) with each first attachment fitting engageable into or onto and removable from a second attachment fitting of an adjoining spring cap. The spring assemblies are attached to each other via the first and second attachment fittings, forming the individual spring assemblies into a spring core. A top pad is positioned on top of the spring core.
Cushion restoration method
Steps for using an insert to restore sagging sofa cushions are provided. Over time, the cushion develops a depression on a sitting surface of a deformable member and an elevation on a base surface of the deformable member. The cushion also suffers from reduced elasticity in the deformable member. Positioning the insert between a cushion casing and deformable member of the cushion allows for sagging areas of the cushion to be fixed. The cushion restoring insert thus addresses both aforementioned issues. An elongated elastic member with similar elasticity to the original cushion provides a like-new level of elasticity for the cushion. The cushion restoring insert also increases volume within the cushion casing, causing tension in combination with the cushion casing. This tension counteracts the depression and elevation, helping to return the cushion to a like new state.
Portable Composite Seat
The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to stadium seats or a seat cushions composed of materials configured in a sandwich construction. In some implementations, an apparatus, systems, or methods can include a durable bottom layer that is adapted to provide traction on a bottom surface of the portable composite stadium seat cushion, an insulating core layer that is adapted to provide contoured and cushioned support for sitting on the portable composite stadium seat cushion, and a pliable top layer that is resilient and protects the core layer.
Chair Back Mechanism and Control Assembly
A chair assembly includes a seat support structure, a back support structure, a back tensioning assembly adjustable between low and high tension positions, an actuator assembly adapted to adjust the back tensioning assembly between the low and high tension positions, a control input assembly actuable by rotating the portion of the control input assembly, and a control link assembly operably coupling the control input assembly with the actuator assembly to adjust the back tensioning assembly between the low and high tension positions upon rotation of the portion of the control assembly by a seated user, wherein a number of rotations of the portion of the control input assembly is not limited by the control link.
DECORATIVE CUSHION MASSAGE DEVICE
A decorative cushion includes a relatively rigid, e.g., foam, inner core and a relatively soft filled portion comprising fill material enclosed in a flexible cover. The filled portion is positioned adjacent a first end of the inner core and may have a compressibility level that is less a compressibility level of the inner core. The first end of the inner core may have a concave contour, and the filled portion may mount or seat in the contour. A first cushion cover is sized for fully receiving the inner core and the filled portion and configured to maintain the position of the filled portion relative to the inner core. A second, decorative cushion cover is sized for fully receiving the first cushion cover containing the inner core and the filled portion. An electric massage unit may be mounted to the inner core at a location spaced from the filled portion. The inner core provides support to the user, while the filled portion allows cushion to be decoratively arranged by the user.
