An electronic device for wirelessly communicating with a terminal device by a wireless communicator includes a direction information acquisition unit and a processor. The direction information acquisition unit acquires, based on a beacon signal received by the wireless communicator from the terminal device, direction information related to a direction of the terminal device with respect to a reference position of the electronic device. The processor performs image formation based on an image forming job corresponding to terminal identification information in the beacon signal when the processor determines that, based on the direction information, the terminal device is positioned in a first range which is a direction range of a predetermined angle.

Provided is a method for a user equipment (UE). The method includes detecting a status of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) position fix for the UE; in accordance with a determination that the GNSS position fix for the UE is invalid, generating, for transmission to a network device, a first GNSS measurement parameter including a first GNSS measurement periodicity and a first GNSS measurement gap; receiving, from the network device, a second GNSS measurement parameter including a second GNSS measurement gap; and performing a GNSS measurement based on the received second GNSS measurement parameter, for acquiring a valid GNSS new position fix, wherein the UE remains in Radio Resource Control (RRC)_Connected mode.
System and method for locating wireless accessories
Embodiments described herein provide for system and methods to crowdsource the location of wireless devices and accessories that lack a connection to a wide area network. One embodiment provides for a data processing system configured to perform operations comprising loading a user interface on an electronic device, the user interface to enable the determination of a location of a wireless accessory that is associated with the electronic device, generating a set of public keys included within a signal broadcast by the wireless accessory, the signal broadcast during a first period, sending the set of public keys to a server with a request to return data that corresponds with a public key in the set of public keys, decrypting the location data using a private key associated with the public key, and processing the location data to determine a probable location for the wireless accessory.

The serving base station notifies the communication terminal of an instruction to configure a measurement gap for the communication terminal to measure a positioning signal transmitted from at least one neighboring base station in order to measure a position of the communication terminal, without a request from the communication terminal (Step ST1417).

Each of multiple entities has a respective attached mobile unit that transmits, periodically, a first radio message with identity information of the corresponding entity. At least three base stations receive the first radio message; and based thereon, forward, via a transmission line, the identity information and timing information indicating when the first radio message was received. A central unit communicatively connected to the at least one transmission line receives, via the transmission line, the identity and timing information from the base stations, and based thereon determines a position of the respective entity. Each mobile unit alters an energy density at which the first radio message is transmitted in response to a trigger input being generated depending on a position of the mobile unit relative to a stationary reference. Thus, the energy resources in the mobile units can be economized while attaining a desired positioning accuracy wherever needed.
