DEVICE FOR DETERMINING LOCATION OF TERMINAL
A device and method determine a location of a terminal by selecting one of a GPS signal and a beacon signal when a terminal moves indoors and outdoors. The device includes a measurement unit for measuring a signal strength of a GPS signal and a signal strength of a beacon signal, respectively; a selection unit for comparing the measured signal strengths and selecting one signal of the GPS signal and the beacon signal based on the comparison; and a determination unit for determining the location of the terminal using the selected signal. The selection unit compares the measured signal strengths based on at least one of a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) and a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to select a signal having a comparatively stronger strength, and selects a signal whose strength is increasing when the measured signal strengths are substantially equal to each other.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, CONTROL DEVICE, AND OPERATION METHOD OF ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
An electronic apparatus includes a communication unit configured to perform wireless communication, a storage, a first determiner, and an indoor specifying unit. The storage stores therein, as registered identification information, identification information whose contents are changeable, the identification information being allocated to a first communication device with which the communication unit is capable of performing wireless communication. The first determiner determines whether received identification information agrees with the registered identification information, the received identification information being the identification information received by the communication unit from a second communication device and allocated to the second communication device. The indoor specifying unit performs indoor specification to specify that a user having the electronic apparatus is indoors, based on a first result of determination by the first determiner.
GPS POWER CONSERVATION USING ENVIRONMENTAL DATA
Biometric monitoring devices, including various technologies that may be implemented in such devices, are discussed herein. Additionally, techniques, systems, and apparatuses are discussed herein for providing power-conserving techniques and systems for efficiently utilizing a GPS receiver are described. The positional fix frequency of the GPS receiver may, according to some implementations, be modified or adjusted between various levels according to data from one or more non-GPS sensors. Such non-GPS sensors may include, for example, ambient light intensity or spectrum sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, heart rate sensors, galvanic skin response sensors, infrared sensors, etc.
ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, CONTROL DEVICE, COMPUTER-READABLE NON-TRANSITORY RECORDING MEDIUM AND OPERATION METHOD OF ELECTRONIC APPARATUS
An electronic apparatus comprises an indoor determiner and a notification determiner. The indoor determiner performs an indoor determination for determining whether or not a user of the electronic apparatus is located in an indoor. The notification determiner performs determination processing for determining whether or not the electronic apparatus transmits a notification outside the electronic apparatus based on a result of the indoor determination.
MEASURING DEVICE AND MEASURING METHOD
A measuring device capable of referring to map information, comprising: a first position measuring circuit for measuring a position of the device by receiving a signal transmitted from a positioning satellite; a power source circuit for supplying a power source to the first position measuring circuit; and a processor configured to suspend, in a case of determining that measurement using the first position measuring circuit is not possible, supply of a power source to the first position measuring circuit when determining that a position of the device is indoors based on a latest measurement result by the first position measuring circuit before it is determined that the measurement using the first position measuring circuit is not possible, and the map information.
Identifying problematic 2D positions from mobile devices
A method to identify a problematic 2D position of a mobile device can include: determining a reported 2D position of the mobile device; determining a piece of information about the mobile device; and comparing the reported 2D position and the piece of information about the mobile device. Upon determining that the reported 2D position and the piece of information about the mobile device are consistent with each other, the reported 2D position of the mobile device is used as an estimate of the actual 2D position of the mobile device, or upon determining that the reported 2D position and the piece of information about the mobile device are not consistent with each other, the reported 2D position is determined to be problematic, and the reported 2D position of the mobile device is removed from a list of reported 2D positions of the mobile device.
METHOD FOR ADAPTIVE LOCATION INFORMATION OBTAINMENT IN A WIRELESS NETWORK
A method carried out in a user equipment, UE, (1) for generating location information to a location server (130) in a wireless network (100), the method comprising: receiving (404), from the location server, a location request message identifying a request for location information based on adaptive selection of a positioning method; receiving (404,408), from the wireless network, parameter information for the adaptive selection of the positioning method; obtaining (412) location information using the positioning method adaptively selected by the UE based on the parameter information; transmitting (414) the location information to the location server.
Method and apparatus of recognizing location of user device
Provided is a method and apparatus of recognizing a location of a user device, and the method of recognizing a location of a user device. The method includes receiving a device signal fingerprint from a user device, calculating similarities between the device signal fingerprint and reference signal fingerprints collected inside a store and stored in a database in association with store information, and determining whether the user device is located inside or outside the store on the basis of the similarities.
Positioning system
A positioning system executes wireless communication with a portable terminal by adopting a radio wave of 1 GHz or higher to determine a position of the portable terminal relative to a vehicle. The positioning system includes a vehicle exterior communication device and a positioning device. The positioning device determines whether the portable terminal exists at an exterior operating area being a region outside a vehicle compartment within a predetermined operating distance from the vehicle, based on a reception status of the wireless signal received by the vehicle exterior communication device from the portable terminal in a first mode of the vehicle exterior communication device, and determines whether the portable terminal exists inside the vehicle compartment, based on the reception status of the wireless signal received by the vehicle exterior communication device from the portable terminal in a second mode of the vehicle exterior communication device.
