Techniques for estimating a position of a user device using a WPS dedicated device and optimized scanning
In various embodiments, a WPS dedicated device is used to estimate the position of a user device. The WPS dedicated device is configured to be receive-only and lacks WLAN packet transmission capabilities, or is configured to provide limited-transmission and is capable of transmitting only a predefined subset of WLAN packets supported by a WLAN protocol. The WPS dedicated device may be used with optimized scanning procedures that include a plurality of phases that are progressed through until WLAN information sufficient to identify at least a threshold number of more WLAN APs is obtained, that simultaneously scan on multiple WLAN channels, or that provide other types of optimization.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAXIMIZING MOBILE DEVICE POWER USING INTELLIGENT GEO-LOCATION SELECTION
A mobile application tracks a user's behavior and activities and, in particular, a geo-location. The mobile application may then produce a profile of the user's behaviors and locations. This may be used to optimize mobile device power and may also be used as a data aggregator to collect and gather user information for other purposes, such as data marketing and modeling. In an embodiment, the mobile application is continuously monitoring the mobile device's battery level and power usage and determining the most power-efficient approach for tracking the device's location. One-hundred percent location accuracy is not always required when profiling a user's behavior. It may be more critical to simply determine the general location of the device and the associated user. The application may continuously function in the background while expending the least amount of power possible.
Indoor positioning and communications system
The inventive concepts provides indoor positioning capabilities and door monitoring to facilities including but not limiting to day care providers and elderly care facilities in order for them to be able to quickly position someone inside the building as well as to be forewarned when they are going somewhere they shouldn't be i.e. near an exit way. The system also offers two way communications to the staff in the facility when a management server is implemented.
METHODS FOR POSITIONING DELEGATION
A wireless transmit-receive unit (WTRU) may be configured to perform one or more actions. The WTRU may receive positioning configuration information. The positioning configuration information may include an indication of one or more positioning delegation candidates for the WTRU and an indication of one or more conditions for starting or stopping positioning delegation. The WTRU may detect that a condition for starting positioning delegation has been satisfied for at least one of the positioning delegation candidates. The WTRU may send an indication to a network device that the WTRU is using at least one positioning delegation candidate which has satisfied conditions. The WTRU may detect that a condition for stopping positioning delegation has been satisfied for at least one positioning delegation candidate. The WTRU may send an indication to the network device that the WTRU has stopped using at least one positioning delegation candidate for positioning.
Wearable device location systems
Systems, methods, devices, computer readable media, and other various embodiments are described for location management processes in wearable electronic devices. Performance of such devices is improved with reduced time to first fix of location operations in conjunction with low-power operations. In one embodiment, low-power circuitry manages high-speed circuitry and location circuitry to provide location assistance data from the high-speed circuitry to the low-power circuitry automatically on initiation of location fix operations as the high-speed circuitry and location circuitry are booted from low-power states. In some embodiments, the high-speed circuitry is returned to a low-power state prior to completion of a location fix and after capture of content associated with initiation of the location fix. In some embodiments, high-speed circuitry is booted after completion of a location fix to update location data associated with content.
Nodes and methods for enhancing positioning
The present disclosure relates to a positioning node, a core network node, a radio network (RN) node, and a user equipment (UE) of a wireless network, and to a related method of supporting UE positioning. The method comprises transmitting UE radio access capability information and/or radio network node capability information to the positioning node. The transmission of UE radio access capability information is either unsolicited or triggered by a request. The UE radio access capability information may be transmitted from the CN node, from the RN node or from the UE, and the RN node capability information is received from the RN node itself. The positioning node supports positioning of the UE based on the received UE radio access capability information and/or the radio network node capability information.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR ENHANCED ROUND TRIP TIME (RTT) EXCHANGE
Disclosed are systems, methods and devices for obtaining round trip time measurements for use in location based services. In particular implementations, a fine timing measurement request message wirelessly transmitted by a first transceiver device to a second transceiver device may permit additional processing features in computing or applying a signal round trip time measurement. Such a signal round trip time measurement may be used in positioning operations.
METHOD FOR DETECTING LOCATION OF MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE AND MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE PERFORMING THE SAME
Disclosed herein is a technology for detecting the location of a mobile computing device. A method for detecting the location of a mobile computing device includes the steps of (a) obtaining time, (b) storing the time and location information including GPS information and base station information associated with the time, and (c) obtaining base station information at the present time and estimating current GPS information without using a GPS if a correlation between the stored time and base station information is a specific reference or more.
