Group-based positioning design in asynchronous vehicular networks

Disclosed are some examples of techniques for positioning of a user equipment (UE) using positioning reference signal (PRS). One or more units of messages may be communicated between an initiator UE and a responder UE. A unit of message may include a pre-PRS message, a PRS message and a post-PRS message. The pre-PRS message and the post-PRS message may be sent or received using a license spectrum. The PRS message may be sent or received using an unlicensed spectrum. The communication between the initiator UE and the responder UE may be initiated by the initiator UE identifying the responder UE from a plurality of UEs based on positioning properties of the responder UE. The positioning properties of the responder UE may include one or more of a direction, a velocity, a location confidence and a location of the responder UE.

This document describes techniques and systems for indoor localization using Bluetooth high-accuracy distance measurement (HADM). In examples, the described systems and techniques perform a signal-strength scan to identify multiple anchor points and then pair, based on the signal-strength scan, the tagged device with a first anchor point of the identified anchor points. A HADM time slot is set for the first anchor point and at least two additional anchor points of the identified anchor points. A HADM event is initiated, the HADM event including sending a HADM ping and receiving HADM responses from two or more of the identified anchor points. Based on at least a time of receipt of HADM responses received from the two or more of the identified anchor points, the location of the tagged device is calculated.

The UE is capable of communicating with at least one of another UE, a UE related to an autonomous driving vehicle, a base station (BS) or a network.

Furthermore, the operation includes receiving the first location from the locator beacon and receiving the second location from the device. The operations further include determining the position of the device based on a function of the first location and the second location.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, one or more user equipments (UEs) may implement distance-limited sidelink-based ranging techniques. An initiating UE may transmit one or more positioning reference signal (PRS) request messages to one or more target UEs via a sidelink channel. In some cases, the initiating UE may receive one or more response messages from at least one target UE that is located within a threshold distance from the initiating UE. In some examples, based on receiving the one or more response messages, the initiating UE may transmit PRSs to each target UE that transmitted a response message.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING DEVICE POINTED TO BY USER EQUIPMENT

A method and apparatus for determining a device pointed to by a UE is provided. The method includes determining UE pointing information based on spatial information of UWB devices; and determining a target non-UWB device pointed to by the UE based on the UE pointing information and spatial information of at least one non-UWB device. The disclosure determines a target non-UWB device pointed to by the UE in the UWB environment based on spatial perception capability of UWB and improve the user experience of UWB pointing operations.
