Method, system and apparatus for enabling location determination using multiple simultaneous location databases
Examples are disclosed for techniques for a new method of calculating multiple locations of a wireless communication device based on the same or a subset of the same raw data measurements (such as WiFi Time-Of-Flight/Fine-Time-Measurements or RSSI) and client specific fixed location device locations sources and/or database. Additionally, new APIs and implementation methods to support the new method are disclosed.
Floor Assignment
A method 400 of automatically assigning segments of trajectories 110, 120, 130 to floors of a building 100 comprises receiving 801 data concerning a trajectory from a mobile device 152, the data comprising height data and ambient signal data; segmenting 802 the trajectory using the height data, such that a change in the height data marks an end region of a segment. A change in the height data between adjacent segments is referred to as a height link. The method further comprises calculating 803 similarity values for pairs of segments based on the ambient signal data; using the similarity values, grouping 804 the segments into a plurality of groups based on the ambient signal data; checking 805 for errors in the grouping using the height links; accepting 808a the grouping if the checking does not identify any errors, or re-running 807 the grouping if it does; and, once the grouping is accepted, assigning 809 the groups to corresponding floors.
POSITION ESTIMATION
A method, apparatus and computer program is described comprising: obtaining reference signals received at a plurality of nodes of a communication system from a user device; generating signal signature matrices based on real and imaginary components of the obtained reference signals; and generating a first three-dimensional position estimate for the user device by applying signals based on the generated signal signature matrices to an input of a model.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR DETERMINING A POSITION RELATIVE TO A CONFINED SPACE
The present invention relates to a method, a system and a computer program product for determining a position relative to a confined space. For this purpose, one or more UWB anchors are provided on the confined space, a distance of the UWB item relative to the one or more UWB anchors is repeatedly determined, a variability is determined based on the repeatedly determined distances and it is determined whether the UWB item is in the confined space, by comparing said variability with a predetermined variability limit value.
MULTIMODAL SENSING POSITIONING MODEL ORIENTED TO HIGH-RISK PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT AND SYSTEM THEREOF
The present invention relates to a multimodal sensing positioning system orientated to a high-risk production environment, the positioning system comprising: at least one positioning terminal, configured to be worn by a to-be-positioned subject and use at least one positioning technique to conduct multimodal sensing positioning so as to identify a current location information of the subject in the high-risk production environment; and a monitoring terminal, communicating with the positioning terminal so as to remotely monitor the current location of the subject. The present invention improves positioning precision while ensuring realtimeness of multimodal positioning.
RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID) LOCATIONING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LOCATING ONE OR MORE ITEMS POSITIONED WITHIN A DEFINED SPACE
Radio-Frequency identification (RFID) locationing systems and methods for locating one or more items positioned within a defined space are disclosed herein. An example embodiment includes energizing, by an RFID reader having an RFID antenna, an RFID tag corresponding to an item positioned within a defined space. Each of a first signal strength and a second signal strength of the RFID tag is detected, respectively, by a first RFID receiver node of a first node channel and a second RFID receiver node of a second node channel. A controller alternates a multiplexor to receive at the multiplexor each of first signal strength data from the first RFID receiver node and second signal strength data from the second RFID receiver node. The first signal strength data and the second signal strength data is provided to the RFID reader and combined to determine a location of the item positioned within the defined space.
Communication method and system for tracking objects based on combinations of location relationship
A location relationship obtaining method includes recording, as a reference location point corresponding to a searched terminal, a location point for obtaining a wireless signal having greatest strength, obtaining at least two reference location points, setting either of the at least two reference location points as a benchmark location point, and obtaining a reference location relationship between the other reference location points and the benchmark location point, where the reference location relationship indicating a location relationship between a searched terminal corresponding to the other reference location points and a searched terminal corresponding to the benchmark location point.
Positioning system
There is disclosed a system for locating an object on a surface waveguide. The surface waveguide is made of one or more 1D wires and/or 2D waveguides comprising conductive elements arranged in patterns. Emitters with known positions can couple with receivers coupled with the surface waveguide. The position of receivers can be determined, for example by multilateration or signal strength indication. Conductive elements can be sprayed or sewed or otherwise deposited onto surfaces such as a ground floor, a sidewalk or a road lane. Described developments comprise the use of absorbers, protective layers, unidirectional emitters, contactless coupling, and various arrangements comprising frequency-selective layers, arrangements in lattices, trellis or anisotropic surfaces. Signal processing aspects and software embodiments are also described.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR THE GENERATION OF DYNAMIC REFERENCE POINTS
The embodiments herein relate to method performed by a radio network node, a network node, a method performed by a UE, a UE, a method performed by a location server and a location server. The method performed by the network node includes: transmitting at least one signal to other network nodes; detecting signals transmitted from said other network nodes; measuring the signal strength of each received signal; transforming said measured signal strengths into a reference point or into measurement data; and transferring or transmitting the reference point or the measurement data to a location entity or a location node or a location server in the network.
