Method for locating sources emitting electromagnetic pulses
The present invention relates to a method for locating sources emitting electromagnetic pulses, each source belonging to a carrier platform, the method comprising the following steps: receiving, by a detector, for each source to be located, at least one same emitted pulse, received directly and received by reflection on the carrier platform of another source, measuring the arrival direction, the arrival date and at least one invariant characteristic of each received pulse. The method further comprises the following steps: grouping together a first pair of pulses and a second pair of pulses, calculating the difference of dates of arrival between the pulses of each pair, determining the direction and the distance of each source from the detector from calculated differences of dates of arrival of the pulses of each pair.

The detector and/or the server may also generate correlation coefficients between reference signals carrying spectrum received from a serving cell and utilize the correlation coefficients to cancel a serving cell signal in symbols that include known in advance reference signals from the serving cell and one or more neighboring cells of the wireless system.

User equipment localization in a mobile communication network
A receiver, which is located in a spatial region of interest served by a transmitter of a wireless communication network, receives a radio signal from at least one transmitter of the wireless communication network, and the radio signal has a plurality of position reference signal (PRS) sequences. Each PRS sequence has associated therewith a different PRS sequence identifier, and each PRS sequence is send using a different beam cone of the transmitter. The beam cones of the transmitter for sending the plurality of PRS sequences are directed to the spatial region of interest. The receiver processes the radio signal to estimate a time of arrival of each PRS sequence and to obtain for each PRS sequence the associated PRS sequence identifier. A position of the receiver is estimated using the times of arrival and the obtained PRS sequence identifiers.

A positioning sensor includes m receiving antennas connected to a feeder circuit and n variable loads, and a receiver that receives a first signal via the m receiving antennas. The positioning sensor further includes a memory that stores a first signal strength value of a first signal that the receiver receives when a variable load varies in value, and a processor that calculates a second signal strength value from a complex propagation channel, searches for a complex propagation channel candidate that has a minimum difference between a first signal strength and a second signal strength, determines the complex propagation channel candidate to be a complex propagation channel when the receiver receives the first signal, and estimates an incoming direction of the first signal from the determined complex propagation channel.

Further, the present invention relates to a roadside unit (RSU), at least comprising a data communication unit, a memory unit and a processor unit. In addition, the present invention relates to a system to provide position information in an area, preferably in respect of an advanced driver assistant system (ADAS) and/or autonomous driving.
METHOD OF ESTIMATING A DISTANCE IN A NETWORK LPWA AND METHOD OF ESTIMATING THE ASSOCIATED POSITION
The present invention relates to a method for estimating a distance between nodes of an LPWA network. A first node (a second node resp.) successively transmits a narrow band signal at a plurality of carrier frequencies (421). The second (the first resp.) node receives the transmitted signals and demodulates them into baseband (422). Complex values representative of a forward-backward function of the transmission channel between two nodes are obtained (423) from the baseband demodulated signals. These complex values are then provided to a previously supervisingly trained neural network (425), the neural network giving an estimation of the distance separating the first node and the second node. The present invention also relates to a method for estimating the position of a node in an LPWA network using said distance estimation method.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives a positioning measurement request from a network entity, the positioning measurement request including a request to receive and/or to transmit a plurality of positioning reference signals from and/or to one or more transmission-reception points (TRPs) using the same receive (RX) beam and/or transmit (TX) beam, attempts, in response to reception of the positioning measurement request, to use the same RX beam and/or TX beam to receive and/or to transmit the plurality of positioning reference signals to perform positioning measurements, and provides a positioning measurement report to the network entity in response to the positioning measurement request, the positioning measurement report indicating using the same RX beam and/or the same TX beam and/or a degree of success with using the same RX beam and/or the same TX beam.

A positioning and tracking system is disclosed. The positioning and tracking system includes positioning sensors disposed in a space, wherein the positioning sensors are all movable and all have functions of sensing distance, angle and time, and the positioning sensors communicate with each other to sense relative distances, relative angles and relative times between every two positioning sensors of the positioning sensors. when at least one of the positioning sensors moves in the space, the positioning sensors re-communicate with each other to instantly update the relative distances, the relative angles and the relative times between every two positioning sensors of the positioning sensors.
