System and method for caregiver availability determination

A system and method to determine availability of caregivers to respond to nurse calls or other alerts originating in patient rooms is provided. Caregivers are designated as unavailable depending upon room types in which they are located, or depending upon patient types in the rooms in which they are located, or depending upon how long they have been present in certain rooms, or depending upon whether the caregivers have designated themselves as unavailable, or any combination of the foregoing. A system and method to escalate alerts to other caregivers if a primary caregiver is unavailable includes escalating first to a designated secondary caregiver and then to a caregiver who is closest in proximity to the room from which the alert originated if the secondary caregiver is also unavailable.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCED POSITIONING IN 5G-NR USING DAOD AND DAOA

The angle of departure (AOD) of directed beams, e.g., beamformed beams, transmitted by one or more base stations, such as a gNB, and the angle of arrival (AOA) of the directed beams received by a UE may be used to improve positioning accuracy by identifying Line Of Sight (LOS) beams and multi-path beams. The differential AOA (DAOA) of a directed beam pair may compared to the differential AOD (DAOD) of the directed beam pair. Matching DAOA and DAOD may be used as an indication that the directed beams in the beam pair are LOS with the UE, whereas a mis-match indicates one or both of the directed beams are multi-path. The location of the UE may be estimated using the measurement information, e.g., AOA, RTT, RSTD, etc., obtained from LOS directed beams.

The techniques also include determining location data for the sensor fusion device or an auxiliary device associated with the sensor fusion device, based on the angle-based location data.

In an aspect, a base station performs one or more angle-based measurements in a first coordinate system, determines whether to report, to a positioning entity, the one or more angle-based measurements in a local coordinate system (LCS) or a global coordinate system (GCS), and reports the one or more angle-based measurements to the positioning entity in the LCS or the GCS based on the determination. In an aspect, a positioning entity receives, from a base station, one or more angle-based measurements in an LCS of the base station or a GCS, determines whether the one or more angle-based measurements are in the LCS or the GCS, and processes the one or more angle-based measurements based on the determination.
