RADAR SENSOR
20170219690 · 2017-08-03 ·

A method for operating a radar sensor in which the radar sensor is provided with a signal generating device. The signal generating device generates an outgoing signal as a radar signal that is to be emitted. The radar sensor also includes a signal receiving device for receiving and processing received signals as reflected radar signals. The outgoing signal is generated within a predefinable frequency band. The received signals are monitored for the presence of an interference disruption. When an interference disruption has been detected, the frequency band for the generation of the outgoing signal is at least temporarily reduced in terms of the bandwidth.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR RADAR DETECTION IN SHARED SPECTRUM

The present disclosure relates to a method and system in a wireless network for radar detection in certain bands e.g. bands normally used for unlicensed access. In one broad aspect, a method is provided for a network node configured to control wireless transmissions in a frequency band also used for radar transmissions. In that method, the network node controls the wireless transmissions using a transmission cycle pattern defined by a transmit on time and a transmit off time. The method includes after a wireless transmission during the transmit-on time of a first transmission cycle, detecting, during the transmit-off time of the first transmission cycle, at least one radar pulse in the frequency band and extending the transmit off time of a second transmission cycle based on the at least one radar pulse detected. Advantageously, in some implementations, extending the transmit off time when one or more radar pulses are detected provides more time to detect a larger number of pulses which as a result, may improve radar detection accuracy.

CORRELATED FANBEAM EXTRUDER

Antenna systems and methods of detecting RF signals received from a field of view (FOV) are presented, employing intersecting fan beam pluralities formed by associated columns or rows of antenna elements and cross-correlation of components of the received radiation from the fan beam pluralities. The intersecting fan beams pluralities form pencil-like beams persistently spanning the FOV as desired. Angle(s) of arrival and frequency channels of incident RF signals may be determined through power estimation, ranking and filtering, and/or frequency channelization techniques. Higher sensitivity beams may be cued to more accurately characterize the incident signals.

GEOLOCATION ON A SINGLE PLATFORM HAVING FLEXIBLE PORTIONS

A geolocation system on a platform, for example, an airplane, to identify a location of a signal emitting site includes an inertial navigation system and an array of signal detectors. A first subset of the detectors is on a flexing portion of the platform and a second subset of detectors is on a rigid portion of the platform. An inertial measurement unit is disposed adjacent to each of the detectors on the flexing portion. A locator module is configured to: calculate a respective velocity and a respective position of each one of the detectors positioned on the flexing portion as a function of respective inertial measurement data; and determine a position of the emitter as a function of the calculated velocity, calculated position, inertial navigation data, the detected signal data and data defining a flexure relationship between the flexing and rigid portions of the platform.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING A CHANNEL SWITCH MECHANISM BETWEEN DFS CHANNELS

Systems and methods are provided for optimizing the channel switching process in an access point. Periodic background scanning of a current channel on which a radio is operating to determine channel utilization can be used to generate a ranked channel list from which to select an alternative channel to which the radio can migrate, for example, in the event of a radar signal(s) being detected on its current channel. To maintain connectivity for clients, the clients may be temporarily transitioned to a non-DFS channel while an isolated/dedicated radio chain is used to perform the requisite Channel Availability Check (CAC) assessment on a DFS channel if the radio, based on the ranked channel list, selects a DFS channel as the alternative channel.

Methods and systems for establishing prototype pulses
11209521 · 2021-12-28 · ·

Methods and systems for developing a prototype pulse in real-time. A method includes detecting, by a signal processor, a plurality of repetitive pulse signals carried in energy waves received at an antenna. The method further includes estimating time intervals corresponding to occurrences of the plurality of repetitive pulse signals and extracting a plurality of pulse signal segments detected by the signal processor during each of the time intervals over a time period. The signal processor selects a first pulse signal segment received during one of the time intervals and calculates respective time delays relative to the first pulse signal segment for each remaining pulse signal segment of the plurality of pulse signal segments. The signal processor then time-aligns the extracted pulse signal segments with the first pulse signal segment and averages the pulse signal segments to establish a prototype pulse signal.

Exemplary aspects are directed to circuitry that assesses and differentiates a set of targeted data and updates a high-level bin with a numerical value indicating the number of data elements that compared successfully with a predefined value range defined for each bin. A cumulative sum of the high-level bins may then be calculated. Following, a target threshold may be compared to the cumulative sum at each bin and then providing an indication upon discovering a cumulative sum exceeding the threshold. The targeted data may be further refined by changing (through circuitry or other intervention) the predefined range values and then reprocessing the targeted data.
