SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TURBULENCE DETECTION

An aircraft hazard warning system or method can be utilized to determine a location of turbulence, hail or other hazard for an aircraft. The aircraft hazard warning system can utilize processing electronics coupled to an antenna. The processing electronics can determine an inferred presence of a weather condition in response to lightning sensor data, radar reflectivity data, turbulence data, geographic location data, vertical structure analysis data, and/or temperature data. The system can include a display for showing the weather condition and its location.

This disclosure is directed to techniques for aggregating marine weather radar data and sea state sensor data from ships or other sea-based data collecting nodes, potentially also with non-sea-based data collecting nodes. In one example, a system is configured to receive, via a remote coverage broadband datalink system, one or more sets of marine environmental condition data from one or more sea-based data collecting nodes. The system is further configured to aggregate the one or more sets of marine environmental condition data from the one or more sea-based data collecting nodes into one or more aggregated sets of marine environmental condition data. The system is further configured to output at least one of the aggregated sets of marine environmental condition data to one or more recipient systems.

Continuous-wave radar system for detecting ferrous and non-ferrous metals in saltwater environments

The present invention includes systems and methods for a continuous-wave (CW) radar system for detecting, geolocating, identifying, discriminating between, and mapping ferrous and non-ferrous metals in brackish and saltwater environments. The CW radar system generates multiple extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic waves simultaneously and uses said waves to detect, locate, and classify objects of interest. These objects include all types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as changing material boundary layers (e.g., soil to water, sand to mud, rock to organic materials, water to air, etc.). The CW radar system is operable to detect objects of interest in near real-time.

Image output device, and non-transitory tangible computer-readable medium for outputting image around vehicle to display device

An image output device outputs a periphery image of a vehicle to a display; acquires a capture image of the periphery; acquires detection information of the periphery; determines an accuracy factor of detection of each object; calculates a position of the object in the capture image; determines whether objects overlap with each other in the capture image; and sets an image transmission region to at least a part of a region displaying a first object disposed on a near side among the objects determined to overlap with each other in the capture image, generates the periphery image for visually confirming a second object disposed on a far side of the first object, and changes a transmittance defined in the image transmission region higher as the accuracy factor of the detection of the second object is higher.

Embodiments may relate to a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI may include a first portion that displays an image related to images of a location. The GUI may also include a second portion that displays an image related to detection and ranging information of the location. The two images may be linked such that an interaction with an object in one portion of the GUI causes changes in the other portion of the GUI. Other embodiments may be described or claimed.
