Adjustment assembly for a vehicle with an ultrasonic system and method for obstacle detection
An adjustment assembly for use in a vehicle, including an adjustable part configured to move between an open position and a closed with respect to a vehicle body. The adjustable part may include an outer side and an inner side. At least a portion of the adjustable part may define an opening extending between the outer side and the inner side. The adjustment assembly may include an ultrasonic transmitter, disposed on either the adjustable part or the vehicle body and may be configured to emit a number of ultrasonic waves to an obstacle, and an ultrasonic receiver disposed on the inner side of the adjustable part and configured to receive the ultrasonic waves reflected from the obstacle through the opening.
Frequency steered sonar array system with three-dimensional functionality
A transducer system comprises a first frequency steered transducer array element and a second frequency steered transducer array element that is spaced apart from the first frequency steered transducer array element. The system additionally includes a processing element in communication with the first and second frequency steered transducer array elements. The processing element is configured to receive a first receive electronic signal from the first frequency steered sonar array element, receive a second receive electronic signal from the second frequency steered array sonar element, compare a difference in amplitude between the first receive electronic signal and the second receive electronic signal to determine a cross-track position of an underwater target, and control a display to present an indication of the cross-track position of the underwater target.

External sensor attachment portion structure
In an external sensor attachment portion structure of the present invention, an external sensor includes: a sensor main body including a detection unit that detects external information; a sensor attachment bracket used to attach the sensor main body to a vehicle body frame member; and a sensor garnish including a window portion through which the detection unit is exposed in front view. The sensor garnish is provided on an outer side of the host vehicle so as to expose the detection unit of the external sensor and cover the sensor main body and the sensor attachment bracket excluding the detection unit. Small gaps are provided between the sensor main body and a window frame of the window portion in the sensor garnish. The window frame includes a noise suppression portion that suppresses wind noise due to airflow passing through the gaps along a rearward direction of the host vehicle.
Casing for a Towable Sonar Apparatus and a Method of Manufacturing a Casing for a Towable Sonar Apparatus
There is provided a casing for a towable sonar apparatus, comprising: a tubular member, wherein the tubular member comprises a foam member or a mesh member; a first layer around the tubular member, wherein the first layer is porous.
SONAR BEAM SHAPE CONTROLLING HORN
A system for controlling sonar beam shapes is provided. The system comprises at least one sonar transducer element having an emitting face. The at least one sonar transducer element is configured to generate a sonar beam having a path. The system also comprises a horn that is configured to rest within the path of the sonar beam. The horn is configured to reform a beam shape of the sonar beam.
Device and method for measuring the level of liquid in a container
The invention relates to a filling level measuring device for measuring the filling level in a container through the wall thereof by means of ultrasound, having an ultrasonic measuring head, a controller, and a fastening device by means of which the filling level measuring device can be fastened to the container such that the ultrasonic measuring head is pressed against the wall of the container. The invention further relates to a method of operating such a filling level measuring device, wherein a sampling rate is used which is situation-dependent. The invention finally relates to an assembly made up of such a filling level measuring device and at least one spacer which can be attached to the lower edge of a container to be provided with the filling level measuring device.
Ranging systems and methods with staggered multichannel transducers
Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide a staggered multichannel transducer in a ranging system configured to perform remote sensing. The staggered multichannel transducer may extend in a first direction and one or more transducer elements of the array may offset from the other transducer elements in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The staggered arrangement of the transducer elements may improve remote sensing performance to produce accurate remote sensing data and/or imagery. The staggered arrangement also may reduce a number of transducer elements used in the transducer array which reduce the cost and complexity of the transducer array. Further, the staggered arrangement in a linear transducer array also allows for two-dimensional beam forming.
