METHOD AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR SMART HOME CONTROL
A method for remote control of at least one non-ultra wide band (nUWB) device in a space by an electronic device is provided. The method includes identifying a position using at least one ultra wideband (UWB) anchor in the space, determining a field of view based on the position of the electronic device in the space, identifying the at least one nUWB device within the field of view, and establishing communication with the at least one nUWB device.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR REMOTE SLEEP MONITORING
Methods and systems for remote sleep monitoring are provided. Such methods and systems provide non-contact sleep monitoring via remote sensing or radar sensors. In this regard, when processing backscattered radar signals from a sleeping subject on a normal mattress, a breathing motion magnification effect is observed from mattress surface displacement due to human respiratory activity. This undesirable motion artifact causes existing approaches for accurate heart-rate estimation to fail. Embodiments of the present disclosure use a novel active motion suppression technique to deal with this problem by intelligently selecting a slow-time series from multiple ranges and examining a corresponding phase difference. This approach facilitates improved sleep monitoring, where one or more subjects can be remotely monitored during an evaluation period (which corresponds to an expected sleep cycle).
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING SCRAMBLED TIMESTAMP SEQUENCE (STS) IN ULTRA WIDE BAND (UWB) COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
Provided is a method of an electronic device for performing ultra wide band (UWB) communication. The method includes receiving upper bit information including pre-set at least one parameter via a UWB command interface (UCI), obtaining slot count information and key information including a constant key value, and performing static scrambled timestamp sequence (STS) generation, based on the upper bit information, the slot count information, and the key information.
LOCALIZATION WITH REDUCED POWER CONSUMPTION
In accordance with a first aspect of the present disclosure, a system is provided for facilitating localizing an external device, the system comprising: at least one UWB communication node; a controller operatively coupled to said UWB communication node, wherein the controller is configured to switch the UWB communication node between a ranging mode of operation and a radar mode of operation in dependence on an estimated distance between the UWB communication node and the external device.
AUTHENTICATION METHOD BETWEEN TERMINALS HAVING PROXIMITY COMMUNICATION FUNCTION AND TERMINALS IMPLEMENTING THE SAME METHOD
An authentication method in a secure channel unused mode on a first terminal in which Fine Ranging (FiRa) applet drives according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes generating a session basic information including a random value, transmitting the generated session basic information to a second terminal, generating session data including a session key from the generated session basic information using an authentication key pre-shared with the second terminal, and performing ultra-wide band (UWB) ranging with the second terminal using the generated session data.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTEROPERATING WITH VEHICLE VIA UWB COMMUNICATION
An embodiment of the disclosure provides an apparatus that include a communication module, a memory, a processor operatively connected to at least one of the communication module or the memory. The processor may be configured to perform UWB communication with a plurality of anchors included in a vehicle via the communication module according to a first scheme, to determine whether a distance to the vehicle falls within a predetermined distance by measuring the distance via the UWB communication, to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied if the distance falls within the predetermined distance, and if the predetermined condition is satisfied, to change the UWB communication scheme from the first scheme to a second scheme. Other embodiments are possible.
ROADSIDE INFRASTRUCTURE DETECTION, LOCALIZATION, AND MONITORING
Surface penetrating radar interrogates a region adjacent a pathway of the vehicle in response to activation by a user. An object detection system which is responsive to the radar transceiver is configured to recognize one or more spatial signatures of one or more detected objects in the region. A controller coupled to the radar transceiver and the object detection system is configured to (i) compare a respective spatial signature of at least one of the detected objects to a plurality of predetermined target signatures to detect an infrastructure asset, (ii) assess a perimeter around the detected infrastructure asset to estimate a severity of an obstruction blocking the infrastructure asset, and (iii) convey an alert message to the user when the estimated severity is greater than a threshold.
Environment Dead Zone Determination based on UWB Ranging
In aspects of environment dead zone determination based on UWB ranging, a system includes ultra-wideband (UWB) radios associated with respective devices in an environment. An automation controller receives UWB ranging data from the UWB radios, and can monitor locations of the respective devices in the environment. The automation controller can detect a loss of coverage by a device connected in the environment, and determine a coverage dead zone within the environment at the location of the loss of coverage by the device based on the UWB ranging data. A computing device can implement the automation controller that receives the UWB ranging data from the UWB radios, and monitors the locations of the respective devices in the environment. The automation controller can detect the loss of coverage by the device, and determine the coverage dead zone within the environment at the location of the loss of coverage by the device.
Method and system for unobtrusive liveliness detection and monitoring using DFR in an IOT network
Radar based HR and BR measurements by simultaneous decoding is a technical problem due to presence of intermodulation of BR and HR harmonics, which degrades simultaneous decoding. Embodiments herein provide a method and system for unobtrusive liveliness detection and monitoring of a subject using a Dual Frequency Radar (DFR) in an IOT network. The system has the capability to completely process the captured raw signals onboard to by applying required signal conditioning and extraction of relevant information using unique signal processing techniques for determining the HR and the BR of the subject accurately. The intermodulation of BR and HR harmonics is eliminated by the system by performing frequency spectrum averaging of both radars signals, which improves the accuracy. Further, the system is configured with a light MQTT protocol and encoding modules for any data to be shared for off board processing, ensuring data security and privacy compliance.
