Devices, systems, and methods for radar-based artificial reality tracking using polarized signaling
The disclosed computer-implemented method may include transmitting, by at least one radar device, to at least one transponder located within a physical environment surrounding a user, a frequency-modulated radar signal that has a first type of polarization, and receiving, by the at least one radar device, signals that have a second type of polarization, the second type of polarization being different than the first type of polarization, detecting, by a processing device communicatively coupled to the at least one radar device, a signal that has the second type of polarization and was returned to the at least one radar device from the at least one transponder in response to the frequency-modulated radar signal, and calculating, by the processing device, a distance between the at least one transponder and the at least one radar device. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
Aircraft with wireless provision of power
An aircraft has a first antenna arrangement, a payload and a processing unit. The first antenna arrangement is designed to wirelessly receive electromagnetic signals. The processing unit is coupled to the first antenna arrangement, on the one hand, and to the payload, on the other hand. The processing unit is designed to modulate an electromagnetic signal received by the first antenna arrangement and thereby to generate a first modulated signal and to forward it to the payload. The payload is designed to use the first modulated signal as working signal. A radiofrequency power signal on an uplink is thus remodulated into a payload working signal, such that the payload working signal is able to be used directly by the payload without rectification into a DC voltage.
SCANNERS, TARGETS, AND METHODS FOR SURVEYING
Apparatus and methods useful in surveying to provide information rich models. In particular, information not readily or possibly provided by conventional survey techniques can be provided. In some versions targets provide reference for baseline positioning or improving position information otherwise acquired. Scanning may be carried out in multiple locations and merged to form a single image. Machine mounted and hand mounted scanning apparatus is disclosed.
PASSIVE INTER-MODULATION SOURCE POSITIONING METHOD AND APPARATUS
This application provides a passive inter-modulation source positioning method and an apparatus, and relates to the field of wireless communications technologies. The method includes: A network device sequentially performs a scanning process on each of a plurality of scanning spots by using the following steps: sending a plurality of downlink signals with different frequencies for a first scanning spot by using a transmit antenna, and receiving an uplink PIM signal for the first scanning spot by using a receive antenna, where the first scanning spot is any one of the plurality of scanning spots, and the uplink PIM signal is generated by excitation by any at least two of the plurality of downlink signals; and the network device determines a PIM source from the plurality of scanning spots based on uplink PIM signals respectively corresponding to the plurality of scanning spots.

CUSTOMIZABLE ELASTIC BAND SYSTEM
A customizable elastic band includes a means for coupling at least one secondary component thereto, the secondary component adapted to individualize the elastic band. In one aspect of the present invention, the elastic band includes a recess adapted to receive and hold the secondary component. In a further aspect of the present invention, the secondary component includes a printed message, a design, or a combination thereof. In a still further aspect of the present invention, the secondary component includes electronic circuitry. In a still further aspect of the present invention, the system including the elastic band and the secondary component are adapted to interact with a point of sale system.
Tamper resistant one-time use wristband and clasp and algorithm to enhance the practical use of radio frequency for proximity between two or more entities
An electronic patient monitoring system and method of operation that includes one or more generally non-metal, tamper-resistant patient identification and monitoring devices, an observer transmitter/receiver device configured to receive and detect one or more beacon signals that exceed a predetermined threshold from at least one of the not easily removable patient identification and monitoring devices, set a time to hold open a window for a response on the transmitter/receiver device, and send a request for information to the observer with the transmitter/receiver device, and a central computer system. Each of the transmitter/receiver device and the central computer system, including, at least, a computer processor, communications components and system software to communicate with the observer transmitter/receiver device at specified/predetermined time intervals to receive observer- and patient-specific information.
System and method for estimating range to an RFID tag
The a system for measuring distance between an RFID reader and tag, including an adaptive linear combiner, which is a tapped delay line with controllable weights on each tap, and outputs that are summed and subtracted from a reference to produce an error signal. After a sufficient number of cycles, the weight distribution indicates the delay of the received signal with respect to the reference, and by extension determines the distance between the tag and receiver.

System and method for detecting movement of a mobile asset and controlling operations of the asset based on its movement
A system and method are provided for detecting direction of movement. The system includes at least two radio frequency identification (RFID) readers arranged in different locations. The RFID readers transmit respective location signals from their locations and receive corresponding response signals from a portable electronic device (PED) when the PED is within range to receive the corresponding location signals, respectively. The system includes a controller configured to determine whether the individual response signals received by the RFID readers respectively satisfy a predetermined condition at a first time and a second time subsequent to the first time. The controller is also configured to determine a direction of movement of the portable electronic device relative to the locations of the RFID readers during the first and second times based on whether the response signals respectively satisfy the predetermined condition at the first and second times.
