Object and Environment Dimensioning Based on UWB Radios

In aspects of object and environment dimensioning based on UWB radios, a system includes objects in an environment that are tagged objects and non-tagged objects. The system includes ultra-wideband (UWB) radios associated with respective tagged objects in the environment. A mapping module is implemented to determine a location of each of the tagged objects in the environment based on a position of the UWB radio associated with a tagged object, and determine a location of each of the non-tagged objects in the environment based on the positions of the UWB radios. The mapping module can also determine dimensions of the environment and the objects based on the location and a relative position of each tagged object and non-tagged object in the environment. In implementations, one or more of the UWB radios are UWB tags located for association with the respective tagged objects.

A method for radio measuring applications, wherein at least a first radio node operates as an initiator and at least a second radio node as a transponder, in a first step a first carrier frequency is transmitted by the initiator as an initial signal and received by the transponder. In a second step a response signal with a second carrier frequency is transmitted by the transponder and received by the initiator, during a measurement cycle at least one step sequence of the first and the second step is performed. First the first steps of all sequence of steps and subsequently at least a portion of the second steps of the step sequences are performed in succession, the first carrier frequency assumes a value within a predetermined frequency domain for each repetition, and the initial signals and the response signals are mutually coherent at least within the measurement cycle.

Systems and methods for providing an ATC overlay data link

Embodiments of the present invention disclose systems and methods for providing an ATC Overlay data link. Through embodiments of the present invention, existing ATC (or other) modulated signals using existing standard frequencies may be utilized to transmit (e.g., from an aircraft transponder) additional information in a manner that does not render the transmitted signal unrecognizable by legacy ATC equipment. Legacy equipment will be able to demodulate and decode information that was encoded in the transmitted signal in accordance with preexisting standard modulation formats, and updated equipment can also extract the additional information that was overlaid on transmitted signals.
