SENSOR DATA COMPRESSION FOR MAP CREATION FOR AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure may relate to communicating RADAR (RAdio Detection And Ranging) data to a distributed map system that is configured to generate map data based on the RADAR data. In these or other embodiments, certain compression operations may be performed on the RADAR data to reduce the amount of data that is communicated from the ego-machines to the map system.
SENSOR DATA BASED MAP CREATION FOR AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to generation of map data. In these or other embodiments, the generation of the map data may include determining whether objects indicated by the sensor data are static objects or dynamic objects. Additionally or alternatively, sensor data may be removed or included in the map data based on determinations as to whether it corresponds to static objects or dynamic objects.
SENSOR DATA BASED MAP CREATION AND LOCALIZATION FOR AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to aligning sensor data. In some embodiments, the aligning may be used for performing localization. In these or other embodiments, the aligning may be used for map creation.
SENSOR DATA BASED MAP CREATION AND LOCALIZATION FOR AUTONOMOUS SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to generating RADAR (RAdio Detection And Ranging) point clouds based on RADAR data obtained from one or more RADAR sensors disposed on one or more ego-machines. In these or other embodiments, the RADAR point clouds may be communicated to a distributed map system that is configured to generate map data based on the RADAR point clouds. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, certain compression operations may be performed on the RADAR point clouds to reduce the amount of data that is communicated from the ego-machines to the map system.
Automated route selection by a mobile robot
A mobile robot is configured for operation in a commercial or industrial setting, such as an office building or retail store. The robot can patrol one or more routes within a building, and can detect violations of security policies by objects, building infrastructure and security systems, or individuals. In response to the detected violations, the robot can perform one or more security operations. The robot can include a removable fabric panel, enabling sensors within the robot body to capture signals that propagate through the fabric. In addition, the robot can scan RFID tags of objects within an area, for instance coupled to store inventory. Likewise, the robot can generate or update one or more semantic maps for use by the robot in navigating an area and for measuring compliance with security policies.
Radar sensor and robot using the same
A radar sensor includes: a transceiver unit for emitting a radar beam at at least two different wavelengths along a beam path in an outgoing direction and to receive radar radiation along the beam path in an incoming direction; and a reference object placed in the beam path for redirecting part of the outgoing radar beam in the incoming direction. The reference object includes two identical grids, each grid having regularly spaced elements arranged at a distance d from each other in a first direction perpendicular to the beam path, the grids being spaced from one another along the beam path by a distance L. The transceiver unit is operable at a wavelength λ which satisfies
n being an integer.
RADAR DEVICE AND MOBILE PLATFORM
A radar device includes a radar base and a radar module. The radar module is mounted at the radar base and configured to rotate relative to the radar base around a rotation axis. The radar module includes an antenna assembly, a signal processing circuit board, and a rotation installation base. The antenna assembly and the signal processing circuit board are arranged oppositely at an interval and jointly enclose to form an accommodation space. The rotation installation base is connected to the antenna assembly and the signal processing circuit board and is located in the accommodation space. The radar base is at least partially located in the accommodation space and arranged opposite to the rotation installation base.
Methods and System for Determining a Location of an Object
A computer implemented method for determining a location of an object comprises the following steps carried out by computer hardware components: determining a pre-stored map of a vicinity of the object; acquiring sensor data related to the vicinity of the object; determining an actual map based on the acquired sensor data; carrying out image registration based on the pre-stored map and the actual map; carrying out image registration based on the image retrieval; and determining a location of the object based on the image registration.
RADAR APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
Some demonstrative aspects include radar apparatuses, devices, systems and methods. In one example, an apparatus may include a plurality of Transmit (Tx) antennas to transmit radar Tx signals, and a plurality of Receive (Rx) antennas to receive radar Rx signals. For example, the radar Rx signals may be based on the radar Tx signals. The apparatus may be implemented, for example, as part of a radar device, for example, as part of a vehicle including the radar device. In other aspects, the apparatus may include any other additional or alternative elements and/or may be implemented as part of any other device.
