Chair providing lifting force to the user
10595638 · 2020-03-24 ·

A back lifting chair designed for treating and preventing back problems by reducing pressure on a user's spinal disc. The chair provides an up-lifting motion on the user's torso, reducing the weight and pressure asserted on the lumbar disc, and preventing any further damage to it. The chair can be modified from an existing chair. In one configuration, a torso lifting harness which can lift the user's upper torso is connected to the backrest of the chair. The back rest of the chair provides an upward and downward movement, hence partially or completely lifting the user from the seat, effectively reducing the pressure on the user's spine and back. The upward motion can be initialized by the user, or alternatively, it can be automatically activated by the weight sensor installed on the seat area which detects the prolonged period of sitting.

A posture improvement assembly includes a base that has a top side and a bottom side and is elongated from a first lateral edge to a second lateral edge. A panel has a top edge and a bottom edge wherein the bottom edge is attached to the top side of the base and extends upwardly therefrom. The bottom edge is oriented parallel to a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second lateral edges. The panel lies in a plane orientated perpendicular to a plane of the bottom side of the base. The panel is telescopic and has an adjustable height. A locking member is mechanically coupled to the panel and releasably locks the panel at a selected height. A cushion is attached to and covers the top edge. The base is positioned on a chair to allow a person to place their back against the panel.

BACKREST DEVICE

A backrest device includes a backrest carrier having a support arm, a backrest mounted on the support arm, and an actuator that is adjustable between a blocking position and a movement position. The support arm is equipped with a latching row. The backrest is movable along the support arm. The actuator is connected to the backrest and has an engaging piece. In the blocking position, the engaging piece is engaged with the latching row, so that a movement of the backrest along the support arm is blocked. In the movement position, the engaging piece is disengaged from the latching row, so that the backrest is movable along the support arm. The actuator is manufactured in one piece from an elastic material, in the movement position the actuator being elastically deformed by a manually applied force, so that the engaging piece is moved out of the latching row.

An apparatus that supports a user in a variety of positions to comfortably perform tasks, such as applying one or more tattoos to skin of a subject is herein disclosed. The apparatus can be reconfigured to optimally position and support the arms and/or chest of the user. The apparatus includes a vertically movable armrest assembly. Armrests can support the user's forearms while supporting the user's chest such that the user can comfortably perform tasks in front of a chest support of the stool. The armrest assembly can be translated vertically to accommodate the user's body to achieve desired positioning.

BACK SUPPORT FOR A CHAIR

An office-type chair includes a back support having a support frame, front and rear shells, a cushion and a cover. The perimeter edge of the cover wraps around the side of the cushion and the front shell and is inserted between the front and rear shells to form a finished edge for the cover. The front shell may include a central flex section, and a lumbar pad may be positioned between the front shell and the rear shell and adjacent to the central flex section. One or more lumbar enhancement ribs on the front shell may augment the pressure distribution of the lumbar pad as it is vertically adjusted.
