ULTRASONIC OBJECT DETECTION APPARATUS
An obstacle detection apparatus includes: a transceiver transmitting a transmission wave and receiving an ultrasonic wave; a transmission controller; a receiver circuit detecting a signal level of a receiving wave; a distance calculator sequentially calculating a distance to an object reflecting the transmission wave; a memory storing the distance to the object; an obstacle determination device determining whether the object is an obstacle; and a reception level monitoring device monitoring the signal level of the receiving wave before the transmission wave being transmitted. When the signal level exceeds a predetermined threshold, the obstacle determination device sets a first number of determination data elements to an increased number of determinations for a predetermined period to be used for determining whether the object is the obstacle, as being larger than a second number of determination data elements used when the signal level does not exceed the predetermined threshold.

OBSTACLE DETECTION APPARATUS FOR VEHICLES
An obstacle detection apparatus for vehicles includes: a first probe wave sensor detecting a direct wave distance as a distance to an obstacle by transmitting a probe wave and receiving a reflection wave of the probe wave reflected by the obstacle; a second probe wave sensor receiving the reflection wave to detect an indirect wave distance as a distance to the obstacle by receiving the reflection wave; an approach determinator determining whether the obstacle is present between the first probe wave sensor and the second probe wave sensor and whether the obstacle is approaching the vehicle; and a distance determinator determining an obstacle distance to be less than or equal to a predetermined distance range when the indirect wave distance falls out of the distance range as the obstacle is present between the first probe wave sensor and the second probe wave sensor and the obstacle is approaching the vehicle.
Driver assistance method for detecting objects on the side
In a driver assistance method for a vehicle, to identify moving objects on the side and to avoid unnecessary collision warnings, the method includes: a) detecting an object with the aid of a first sensor; b) detecting the object with the aid of a second sensor; c) checking whether the object has left the detection area of the second sensor; and d1) discarding the distance data measured by the first sensor and the second sensor if the object has left the detection area of the second sensor; or d2) determining the position of the object from measured distance data if the object has not left the detection area of the second sensor.
SONAR BEAM ZONE PRESENTATION
Systems and methods for determining a location of an object within a sonar beam zone are detailed herein. A system for presenting marine data includes at least one sonar transducer associated with a watercraft, a display, processor(s), and a memory including a computer program code. The sonar transducer emits sonar beams into an underwater environment defining a beam shape. The program code, when executed, causes, on the display, presentation of a chart and a representation of the watercraft; and determines, based on the beam shape corresponding to the sonar transducer, a sonar beam zone corresponding to a sonar coverage of the underwater environment of the body of water. The program code further receives sonar return data and determines a position of an object within the sonar beam zone, and causes, on the display, presentation of the sonar beam zone and an indication of the object within the sonar beam zone.

SIDE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A side collision avoidance system and method for a vehicle combines data from radar sensors mounted on front and rear surfaces of the vehicle with data from ultrasonic sensors mounted on side surfaces of the vehicle, and detects obstacles on the basis of the combined data, so as to increase accuracy in the detection of obstacles and predict the probability of collisions with obstacles with high accuracy. The system includes: radar sensors detecting an obstacle around the vehicle; ultrasonic sensors detecting the obstacle around the vehicle; a controller combining sensor data from the radar sensors with sensor data from the ultrasonic sensors to generate combined data, detecting the obstacle on the basis of the combined data, and predicting collision or non-collision with the detected obstacle on the basis of the combined data; and a brake driver braking the vehicle when the collision is predicted.
Drone flight operations
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for sending a flight plan for execution by a drone, where the flight plan is adapted to a flight controller of the drone. Receiving flight data from the drone while the drone is executing the flight plan. Determining a modification to the flight plan based on the flight data received from the drone. Sending the modification to the flight plan to the drone while the drone is executing the flight plan, such that the drone executes the flight plan as modified by the modification.

Object detection device
When the sight impaired become mobile, they often bump their heads on unseen objects and/or hazards that could result in injury. The object detection device uses signal emitting proximity sensors that alert the user to unseen objects. The object detection device notifies the user of detected objects. Stimulators, such as actuators, produce a detected feedback to contact the user to warn the user that an object has been detected and the distance between the object and the user. Each actuator contacts the user at a specific contact point. The actuator contacting the user at a specific contact point informs the user of the distance between the user and the detected object.
