Sonar transducer performance optimization
A marine electronic device is provided including a user interface comprising a display, a marine electronic device processor, and a memory. The memory includes computer program code configured to cause the marine electronic device to receive sonar return data from at least one transducer element configured to transmit sound waves into a body of water, receive the sonar return signals from the body of water, and convert the sonar return signals into sonar return data. The computer program code is further configured to cause the marine electronic device to generate one or more sonar images based on the sonar return data, identify one or more degraded performance characteristics associated with the sonar return data or the one or more sonar images, and cause an alert based on identification of the one or more degraded performance characteristics.

Three dimensional target selection systems and methods
Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide three dimensional target selection for use when operating mobile structures. A three dimensional target selection system includes a logic device configured to communicate with a user interface and receive volume data from a volume data source. The logic device is configured to render a first perspective of a three dimensional representation of the volume data on a display of the user interface, determine a first viewpoint vector within the 3D representation based, at least in part, on a first user input received by the user interface; and identify an object or position within the volume data based, at least in part, on the first viewpoint vector and the first user input.
ICE TRANSDUCER
A transducer system for locating fish in water beneath ice. A cable coupled with a transducer housing both physically suspends the housing at a selected depth and a selected angular orientation and conveys sonar data to a display unit on the surface. First and second transducers are mounted in the housing and generate the sonar data. The transducers are mounted so as to have different relative angular orientations.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING AND SHARING MARINE ACTIVITY INFORMATION
A system and method for managing information related to marine activities and selectively sharing such information is provided. The system is designed to collect environmental data and create buoy profiles that may be analyzed by users to scout environmental conditions that may be conducive to catching fish in certain geolocations. Buoy profiles are updated in real time by fisherman using the system. The system is also designed to collect information pertaining to a catch and create an activity profile that may be analyzed by users to scout optimal geolocations in which to catch fish. A user's activity profiles may be shared with other users or kept private depending on permission levels within the system. Additionally, the system is designed to alert users of dangerous weather conditions and optimal fishing geolocations based on the buoy profiles and environmental states created by the system.

Underwater detection apparatus and underwater detection method
An underwater detection apparatus is provided. The underwater detection apparatus includes a transmission and reception circuit, and processing circuitry. The transmission and reception circuit drives a transmission transducer to transmit a transmission wave and generates a reception signal based on a reflection wave including a reflection of the transmission wave on an underwater target. The processing circuitry acquires a water bottom depth, sets a boundary passing at a point having a depth equal to the water bottom depth, the boundary making a given angle with a horizontal direction, and generates an image data that represents a location of the underwater target based at least in part on the reception signal, the image data including a color information, the color information being set based at least in part on the location of the underwater target relative to the boundary.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING OPERATIONS OF MARINE VESSELS
Systems, assemblies, and methods for conveniently operating marine devices associated with a watercraft are provided herein. An example system includes a controller, a sensor module, and a marine device. The controller is configured to receive a user input indicating a desired action via the sensor module and transmit a signal to the marine device to cause the marine device to operate in a particular manner. The sensor module may include one or more motion sensors, and the controller may be configured to filter unintentional movement from the raw motion data sensed by the sensor module, such as due to movement of the watercraft floating on the surface of the water. Thus, the system may enable convenient and intuitive control over various marine devices associated with the watercraft.
REAL-TIME FISH MOVEMENT AND LOCATION GUIDE
A real time fish movement and location guide system and method provides an output to an angler of a real time adjusted active fish depth range based upon a set of environmental conditions. Input data relating to the environmental conditions is received from the angler through a user interface and from Internet sources. In some embodiments, the input data is also used to provide outputs indicating weather fronts that will affect movement and location, and to provide lure recommendations and notifications that a change in lure is appropriate in view of changing conditions.
