The chair includes a back support that is flexible such that when a force is applied to it by the user's body, the back support bends. The back support may be configured to adapt to the curvature of the user's spine when the user is seated in the chair. The back support may further be configured such that the user can rotate the back support by rotating the user's upper body.

The stretches may be performed by an average human user while sitting in the office chair throughout the workday. The ergonomically configured chair assembly may have a brace supported by the seatback and extending downwardly therefrom over a left and right shoulder of the seated average human in a cantilevered fashion and an arm restraining device positioned rearward with respect to the rear face of the upstanding seat back.

The functional chair includes a first seat configured to support a left pelvis, a second seat provided at a right side of the first seat, a frame provided below the first seat and the second seat, a backrest protruding from one side of the first and second seats, a seat pressure measuring unit which is respectively provided on the first seat and the second seat, a controller which receives the first pressure value and the second pressure value from the seat pressure measuring unit, a memory which stores in advance drive command information corresponding to a difference between the first pressure value and the second pressure value, a first height adjusting unit provided between the first seat and the frame, and a second height adjusting unit provided between the second seat and the frame.

An improved locker seat includes a pair of spaced-apart upstanding sidewalls having a pair of front edges. A generally horizontal seat extends between and at least partially forward of the front edges of the sidewalls. A lower seatback is connected at a lower extent by a hinge between the sidewalls and extending above the seat, the lower seatback is movable about the hinge between an open position and a closed position. A chair is provided having at least one leg with an upper end on which a seat component is supported and a backrest interconnected to and projecting from the seat component. The backrest comprises a lower backrest section, an upper backrest section, and a backrest hinge interconnecting the upper backrest section to an upper end of the lower backrest section. The lower backrest section is interconnected to and extends from a rear portion of the seat component and the backrest hinge is configured to permit the upper backrest section to be located in an upright position in which the upper backrest section projects above the lower backrest section and is configured to permit the upper backrest section to be pivoted to a forward position in which the upper backrest section extends laterally over and spaced above the seat component.

This element (1) extends upwards from the centre of the rear end of the seating surface. The front column strip carries a number of moveable elements (6) laterally protruding on both sides like ribs (6) from the central moveable element (1), each having two transverse strips (7, 8) for supporting the back region of the seated person exclusively on both sides of their spinal column. Each time the backrest constructed in this way is leant upon, a movement of its contact surface is brought about in different directions, and thereby a massaging of the back muscles of the user.
