A chair support assembly is provided which can comprise a bracket assembly having a horizontal bracket and a vertical bracket, the vertical bracket extending from the horizontal bracket at a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to the vertical bracket, and an adjustable arm telescopically coupled to the horizontal bracket, the adjustable arm slideably moveable in a longitudinal direction of the chair support assembly. The chair support assembly can also comprise a shin support assembly slideably coupled to the vertical bracket, the shin support assembly including a shin rest that is sized and shaped to rest against a shin of a user. A system and method are disclosed which prevent structural damage to a chair footrest in an aircraft. Aircraft typically include release pins which when pulled out of apertures at different angular positions on arms existing on each side of the seat frame enable a user to set the footrest at different angular positions. To avoid overloading, the pin has been included in a pivotable housing on an axle. Resistance against rotation of the pin is provided using a torsion spring. This enables the resistance to be set at a level that allows the pin to break out to prevent overloading.

A foot and/or leg support device for a chair, the chair including a central post having a base, a seat supported by the central post, and a plurality of support legs which branch from the base of the central post. In an example, the support device includes: a connector for attachment to the central post of the chair, wherein the connector comprises a circular interior having a radius of curvature substantially equal to a radius of the central post of the chair; a cantilever arm which extends from the connector; a pivot which connects the cantilever arm to the connector, the pivot being configured for vertical pivoting; and a support frame located at a distal end of the cantilever arm for supporting a foot and/or leg of a user.

A seat assembly having an extendable thigh support. The extendable thigh support may include an attachment sled that may be moveably disposed on a lower guide and a seat cushion extension sled that may be moveably disposed on an upper guide. A linkage mechanism may operatively connect the attachment sled to the seat cushion extension sled.

A bench with a retractable footrest is an apparatus that compactly stores and effectively conceals a footrest. The apparatus includes a seat panel, a back panel, a first frame, a second frame, a retractable footrest, a storage receptacle, and a slider mechanism. The seat panel and the back panel upholds the user while sitting on the apparatus. The first frame and the second frame, together, connects the seat panel and the back panel. The first frame and the second frame allow the seat panel and the back panel to open and close with each other. The retractable footrest upholds the calves, and consequently, the feet of the user, alleviating the stress on the knees of the user. The storage receptacle connects the retractable footrest with the seat panel and houses the retractable footrest. The slider mechanism allows a user to retract and extend the retractable footrest within the storage receptacle.
