Land based unit for seismic data acquisition

A self-contained, wireless seismic data acquisition unit having a cylindrically shaped case with smooth side walls along the length of the case. A retaining ring around the circumference is used to secure the cylindrical upper portion of the case to the cylindrical lower portion of the case. Interleaved fingers on the upper portion of the case and the lower portion of the case prevent the upper portion and the lower portion from rotating relative to one another. Ruggedized external electrical contacts are physically decoupled from rigid attachment to the internal electrical components of the unit utilizing electrical pins that float relative to the external case and the internal circuit board on which the pins are carried. The seismic sensors in the unit, such as geophones, and the antennae for the unit are located along the major axis of the cylindrically shaped case to improve fidelity and timing functions.

Systems and methods for detecting in motion railcar seismic data generated by defective railcar axles of a train traveling on a track. The method uses two or more seismic sensors on the side of the track to capture seismic noise generated by railcar wheels. A wheel that exceeds a preset seismic noise threshold in amplitude, will trigger a wheel tracking algorithm that calculates seismic phase shift data related to the actively tracked wheel noise level, to determine the precise location, in real time, of the faulty wheel carriage while moving. Knowing the precise location of the tracked wheel allows the system to isolate the railcar and capture the railcar and wheel carriage identification information. Subsequently, a railcar log is made on a computer database with the railcar identification information and made available to control centers via ground or satellite links.

WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK ARCHITECTURE BASED ON MULTIFUCTIONAL AND COMPOUND SENSORS

A wireless sensor network architecture based on multifunctional and compound sensors comprises several sensing modules including a plurality of first sensor nodes and a second sensor node. The first sensor nodes are used for collecting a target signal after sensing that a moving target enters a detection area, extracting feature information of the moving target, analyzing the feature information of the moving target to form primary target information, and transmitting the primary target information to the second sensor node, The second sensor node performs moving target matching and association on the primary target information of the moving target that is transmitted by the plurality of first sensor nodes, collects the associated primary target information to form secondary target information. A control module used for synthesizing and calibrating the secondary target information, and obtaining by merging the calibrated secondary target information, the situation evaluation of the moving target to form advanced target information.

OBSERVATION SYSTEM AND OBSERVATION METHOD

An observation system includes a server and a plurality of nodes. The server transmits data to the plurality of nodes and receives response data from the plurality of nodes. The server determines an incoming data-unit count and calculates a ratio of nodes that perform data transmission so that the server receives at least as many data units as a requested data-unit count to the plurality of nodes. The server sends information about the ratio to the plurality of nodes. Each of nodes transmits data to the server in accordance with the information about the ratio.

A system for collecting and managing parametric data via an external communications network comprises one or more parametric stations operatively connected via the external network to a certification server and a payout server. Each parametric station is configured to receive parametric data from a remote source, determine that the parametric data satisfies a predetermined condition, and transmit the parametric data over the external network to the certification server in response to the parametric data satisfying the predetermined condition. The certification server is configured to generate a certification report based on the parametric data and a data model related to the remote source and transmit the generated certification report to the payout server. The payout server is configured to determine that terms of an associated contract are satisfied based on the certification report, and trigger a payout based on the terms that are satisfied based on the certification report.
