Interference attenuation of a residual portion of seismic data
The present disclosure is related to methods, systems, and machine-readable media for interference attenuation of a residual portion of seismic data, such as may be recorded in a marine seismic survey. Recorded seismic data can be separated into a portion attributed to a source and a residual portion. Seismic interference attenuation can be performed on the residual portion.
Attenuation of guided waves using polarization filtering
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for attenuating guided waves in seismic data using polarization filtering are provided. A raw hydrophone component and raw geophone component of multicomponent seismic data may be scaled using a constant scalar to enhance the ellipticity ratio of guided waves. Polarization filtering based on the ellipticity ratio may be applied within a velocity constraint to the scaled hydrophone and vertical geophone components to attenuate the guided waves. Additionally or alternatively, polarization filtering based on the tilt angle may be applied within a velocity constraint to the raw hydrophone and vertical geophone components to attenuate the guided waves. Polarization filtering may be applied to a raw hydrophone component and raw vertical geophone component of seismic data to attenuate Scholte waves before attenuation of the guided waves.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEISMIC INTERFEROMETRY OPTIMIZED DATA ACQUISITION
Systems and methods for improving or generating an image of a surveyed subsurface based on seismic interferometry. A method includes actuating interferometry-based sources over an area to be surveyed to generate seismic waves; recording seismic signals due to the interferometry-based sources, with seismic receivers; selecting traces corresponding to a pair of seismic receivers and an interferometry-based source such that ray paths between the interferometry-based source and the pair of seismic receivers contribute to a Green's function between the two receivers of the pair; cross-correlating the traces for calculating an earth's response associated with a ray propagating from a first seismic receiver of the pair to a second receiver of the pair; and generating an image based on the calculated earth's response.

ESTIMATING A TIME VARIANT SIGNAL REPRESENTING A SEISMIC SOURCE
A method for estimating a time variant signal representing a seismic source obtains seismic data recorded by at least one receiver and generated by the seismic source, the recorded seismic data comprising direct arrivals and derives the time variant signal using an operator that relates the time variant signal to the acquired seismic data, the operator constrained such that the time variant signal is sparse in time.
Seismic sensor devices, systems, and methods including noise filtering
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for sensing acoustic waves in a medium. One example system includes a first elongated member, a first motion sensor sensitive to vibrations of the first elongated member, a second motion sensor spaced apart from the first motion sensor and also sensitive to vibrations of the first elongated member, and a first vibration source operably coupled to the first elongated member and configured to vibrate the first elongated member.
Noise attenuation
A method can include receiving data that includes signal data and coherent noise data where the signal data includes signal data that corresponds to a multidimensional physical structure; generating filtered data by filtering at least a portion of the data to attenuate at least a portion of the coherent noise data by applying a multidimensional geometric coherent noise model defined by at least one geometric parameter; and assessing a portion of the signal data in the generated filtered data to characterize the multidimensional physical structure.

Rotational motion compensated seismic sensors and methods of use in seismic data acquisition
Apparatus and methods for acquiring seismic data using a seabed seismic data cable positioned on a seabed are described, including correcting for the effect of one or more sensor non-linear motions, which improves accuracy of seismic data. One or multiple non-linear movements of the sensor may be corrected for. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract, which will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
