Drilling tool with thread profile
A drilling tool for use in a wellbore comprises a first collar having a first bore extending from a first send to a second end and an internal thread disposed on the bore at the second end. The drilling tool also comprises a second collar having a second bore extending from a third end to a fourth end and an external thread disposed on the third end. The third end is coupled to the second end of the first collar. A first set of components is housed within the first bore and a second set of components is housed on a sidewall of the second collar formed between the second bore and an outer surface of the second collar.

A Strain Sensitive Optical Fiber Cable Package for Downhole Distributed Acoustic Sensing
A distributed acoustic sensing cable package having a polymer composite extruded over an optical waveguide to encase the waveguide and to form a crystalline matrix layer acoustically coupled to the waveguide. The crystalline matrix includes reinforcement fibers to further enhance transmission of a cable strain to the optical waveguide. During manufacture of the cable, the polymer composite may be extruded over the optical waveguide and subsequently subjected to heat treatment to increase the crystallinity of the polymer composite and increase the elastic modulus. Both axial and radial strain fields are effectively interact with cased fiber waveguide for producing measurable phase shift signal for distributed acoustic noise detection.

Pressure Responsive Switch for Actuating a Device
A switch responsive to a pressure differential, including a pressure response mechanism for providing a pressure response in response to the pressure differential and a device actuator arranged to interact with the pressure response mechanism and to utilize the pressure response of the pressure response mechanism to actuate a device. The device actuator actuates the device to an operative state when the pressure differential is below a lower pressure differential threshold, and may actuate the device to a non-operative state when the pressure differential is above an upper pressure differential threshold.

Ultrasonic Echo Locating in a Wellbore Using Time Gain Compensation
A sensor system may be used to measure characteristics of an object in a wellbore. The sensor system may include an ultrasonic transducer that generates an ultrasonic wave in a medium of the wellbore and detects a reflection signal of the ultrasonic wave off the object in the wellbore. The sensor system may also include a processing device and a memory device in which instructions are stored. The memory may include instructions that cause the processing device to receive the reflection signal from the ultrasonic transducer, and to truncate and preprocess the reflection signal to generate a truncated reflection signal. The instructions may also cause the processing device to apply time gain compensation to the truncated reflection signal and determine an echo wavelet from the time gain compensated signal representing an echo of the ultrasonic wave off of a wall of the wellbore.
