A floating vessel based system generates a multidimensional seismic data set for a target area. The floating vessel based system includes a seismic source proximate to a floating vessel, providing a plurality of seismic energy pulses through water to the target area forming a plurality of reflected seismic energy pulses, a non-stationary seismic node configured for being towed from the floating vessel using at least one rope through the water, a non-stationary seismic node, and a second processor with second data storage on the floating vessel. The second data storage instructs the second processor to receive, each digital data series, combines the digital data series for all non-stationary seismic nodes utilized, and automatically generates multidimensional seismic data set for the target area.

Device for monitoring deep-sea sediment environment in mining polymetallic nodules

A device for monitoring deep-sea sediment environment in mining polymetallic nodules is provided. The monitoring system includes: acoustic Doppler flow profilers, a self-potential probe, a turbidity meter and an underwater camera. The invention can realize long-term in-situ observation of sediment disturbance, and can realize the mechanical recovery of probe rod-type equipment without large-scale mechanical devices, thereby reducing the overall weight of the recovery equipment and increasing the probability of successful equipment recovery. Compared with the existing long-term in-situ observation equipment on the seabed, it is more environmentally friendly, efficient, energy-saving and reliable.

CAPACITIVE ELECTROMAGNETIC FORMATION SURVEILLANCE USING PASSIVE SOURCE

Naturally-occurring, electromagnetic signals generated by interaction of solar wind with earth's magnetosphere adjacent a borehole are measured by an electromagnetic sensor positioned adjacent the borehole in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. Electromagnetic signals generated within the borehole are measured over a period of time by a borehole sensor positioned within the borehole. The electromagnetic signals change over the period of time due to variations in fluid distributions within the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. Electromagnetic changes to the electromagnetic signals generated within the borehole and to the passive, naturally-occurring electromagnetic signals over the period of time are determined by one or more processors. A computational model of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation is generated based in part on the electromagnetic changes.

RESOURCE ESTIMATION SYSTEM AND RESOURCE ESTIMATION METHOD

Exploration of resources of the bottom of water such as a seafloor based on a self-potential is accurately performed. A computer of a resource estimation system includes an estimation information acquisition unit that acquires potential information indicating potentials of a plurality of potential electrodes having a predetermined positional relationship measured at a plurality of positions in water, a noise removal unit that removes noise contained in the measured potentials by performing principal component analysis or independent component analysis using the potentials, and a resource estimation unit that estimates the presence of the resources in the bottom of water based on the potential from which the noise has been removed.

Sensing cable with parallel spiral transmission line structure for distributed sensing and measuring of rock-soil mass deformation

This present disclosure provides a sensing cable of parallel spiral transmission line structure for distributed sensing and measuring of rock-soil mass deformation. A circular cross-section of a silicone strip is tightly wounded by two mutually-insulated wires. The two mutually-insulated wires form the spiral cable. The two mutually-insulated wires are wrapped around and covered by a silicone shroud. They constitute a sensing cable. A termination matching impedance is connected to one end of each of the two mutually-insulated wires. A time domain reflectometry measurement instrument is connected to the other end of the two mutually-insulated wires. The present disclosure implements a distributed positioning and measurement of rock-soil mass deformation.
