METHOD OF PROCESSING SEISMIC DATA ACQUIRED BY REFLECTION SEISMIC SURVEY

A method of processing seismic data by a reflection seismic survey includes: calculating a first pseudo-water-surface reflection wave by virtually propagating a direct wave represented in the seismic data in a progressing direction of a time axis by a time in which the acoustic wave propagates in the water at a distance twice a depth of the seismic source, and further correcting an amplitude of the direct wave so that the amplitude is approximated to an amplitude of a water-surface reflection wave of the acoustic wave represented is the seismic data; and subtracting a component corresponding to the first pseudo-water-surface reflection wave from the seismic data.

Compressive sensing marine streamer system

Embodiments included herein are directed towards a marine seismic streamer. The seismic streamer may include an outer skin formed in a longitudinally extending tubular shape, an inner surface of the outer skin defining an internal volume containing a gel substance. The seismic streamer may also include a plurality of micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) sensors and a plurality of hydrophones associated with the outer skin, wherein the plurality of MEMS sensors are spaced non-uniformly in the seismic streamer along an axial direction of the streamer, such that not more than 100 MEMS sensors are located in the seismic streamer over a continuous 100 meter axial length of seismic streamer. The seismic streamer may further include an electronics system extending axially through an inside portion of the outer skin and a strength member core extending axially through an inside portion of the outer skin.

Onshore separated wave-field imaging
11892583 · 2024-02-06 · ·

A method for applying separated wave-field imaging onshore (1) by artificially creating up-going and down-going fields and (2) by using these fields in a migration algorithm. If there are any surface multiples in the data, the resulting image created using the migration algorithm will be distorted by the unknown free-surface reflection coefficient. In fact, the surface multiples may be generated with a complex series of reflection coefficients. The distortions found in the resulting image created using the migration algorithm are then removed.

Impact assessment of marine seismic surveys
10466378 · 2019-11-05 · ·

Methods and systems to assess in near real-time defects in seismic data resulting from noise and seismic data acquisition-system deviations during a marine survey are disclosed. Methods and systems apply forward modeling to a model of a subterranean formation to generate synthetic seismic data based on the noise and deviations in the seismic data acquisition system. The synthetic seismic data represents the seismic data that would be collected by a marine survey carried out on a subterranean formation with the same structure as the Earth model and includes defects that result from the noise and deviations in the seismic data acquisition system. Error estimation is applied to the synthetic seismic data in order to assess the defects at different stages of seismic data processing.

METHOD FOR DEALIASING DATA

A method is disclosed for separating the unknown contributions of one or more sources from a commonly acquired set of wavefield signals using analytic properties of complex and hypercomplex representations. In particular, the methods are designed to treat the case where the wavefield consists of seismic sources and of sets of aliased recorded and/or aliased processed seismic signals.
