Modular weather sensing system and method
An assembly and method for using weather sensors with enhanced modular capability is disclosed. The weather sensor assembly generally comprises a cap module, middle module, and a base module, where the cap module, middle module(s) and the base module are stacked adjacently to provide environmental sealing, weather sensing, and electrical connectivity to the weather sensor assembly. One or more ring mechanisms may be included that interlock the cap module, middle module(s), base module to form the weather sensor assembly into an integrated unit. Moreover, the ring mechanisms enable further modules to be added to the weather sensor assembly for additional capabilities. By doing so, each of the modules in the weather sensor assembly may be independent units that can be removed, reordered, swapped, and added for desired sensing modalities and environments.

Environmental sensors and sensing methods
Described herein is environmental sensors, sensor units, sensor systems and/or sensing methods. In particular, an agricultural or horticultural environment multi-sensor unit comprising a plurality of environmental sensors, including at least: an incident light sensor, a temperature sensor, a carbon dioxide sensor and a relative humidity sensor. The sensor unit may also comprise a wireless communication interface, the multi-sensor unit being configured to transmit data from the environmental sensors via the wireless communications interface.
APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MITIGATING PROPERTY LOSS BASED ON AN EVENT DRIVEN PROBABLE ROOF LOSS CONFIDENCE SCORE
Apparatuses, systems and methods are provided for performing insurance property loss mitigation processes based on an event driven probable roof loss confidence score based on a particular weather event, the event driven probable roof loss confidence score associated with a roof of a building. An example method may include receiving a base-line probable roof loss confidence score for the building. The method may further include receiving weather data associated with the particular weather event, that occurred in the geographic area of the building, and hail data associated with the particular weather event. The method also may include estimating at least one attribute of the one or more attributes, and generating the event driven probable roof loss confidence score based on the base-line probable roof loss confidence score, the weather data, the hail data, and the at least one estimated attribute.

Decision-making Method for Variable Rate Irrigation Management
A decision-making method for variable rate irrigation management includes the following steps: S1: sampling a soil from a root zone of a crop in an area controlled by an irrigation sprinkler, and measuring compositions of separates of the sampled soil; S2: managing and dividing the area controlled by the irrigation sprinkler according to an AWC of the soil in the root zone of the crop; S3: constructing an optimized soil moisture sensor network; S4: placing ground-fixed canopy temperature sensors; S5: constructing an optimized airborne canopy temperature sensor network centered on the center pivot; and S6: performing a variable rate irrigation by using the optimized soil moisture sensor network, the fixed canopy temperature sensors, the optimized airborne canopy temperature sensor network and an automatic weather station. The method optimizes the placement and quantity of the soil moisture sensor network and the canopy temperature sensor network to improve the measurement accuracy.

Method and apparatus for verifying reduced visibility event warnings
A method, apparatus and computer program product for determining a reduced visibility event warning are described herein. In the context of a method, a location corresponding with a reduced visibility event warning may be identified. Information regarding visibility at one or more stationary positions based upon the location of the reduced visibility event warning may be received from one or more remote devices (e.g., sensing apparatuses). The method may determine a reduced visibility event warning confidence for the location corresponding with a reduced visibility event warning based upon the information regarding visibility. The method may cause the reduced visibility event warning to be published in an instance in which the reduced visibility event warning confidence satisfies a confidence threshold.
