Multilayered structures and uses thereof in security markings
A security marking has a physically unclonable function (PUF) wherein the PUF includes a disordered multilayer photonic crystal structure having an electromagnetic transmission and/or reflection spectrum and/or spectra upon receipt of electromagnetic radiation within a photonic bandgap region of the structure that is unique to the structure.
DEFORMABLE PHOTONIC MATERIALS AND RELATED METHODS
The present disclosure describes photonic materials that reversibly change color in response to the material being stretched or otherwise mechanically deformed.
Optical Element
An optical element includes a plate-shaped photonic crystal body including a base and a plurality of lattice elements having a cylindrical hollow structure. The lattice elements are, for example, a cylinder. The plurality of lattice elements are periodically provided on a base in a lattice shape at intervals equal to or less than a wavelength of a target light. The photonic crystal body is a so-called two-dimensional slab type photonic crystal. Furthermore, the optical element includes a light confinement part composed of the lattice elements into which a microstructure made of a solid material is inserted.
Controlled design of localized states in photonic quasicrystals
This invention relates generally to the field of quasicrystalline structures.
OPTICAL PARTICLE DETECTOR
A particle detector includes at least one resonant cavity partially formed at least by a first reflector, a second reflector disposed at a distance from the first reflector and a channel located between the first and second reflectors, the channel being intended to receive at least one fluid comprising particles and to receive at least one light radiation; and at least one detection system having at least one photodetector. The particle detector is configured so that a portion of the light radiation present in the channel escapes from the cavity throughout the second reflector and reaches the detection system, thereby enabling the at least one photodetector to detect leakage of the cavity. The second reflector is a photonic crystal membranes PCM based reflector.
AUTOMOTIVE COATINGS CONTAINING PHOTONIC SPHERES
Disclosed in certain embodiments is a coating composition comprising (i) a solvent, (ii) a resinous binder and (iii) a structural colorant comprising spherical photonic structures and corresponding coatings, coated automotive parts and methods thereof.
APPARATUS AND METHOD OF ACQUIRING IMAGE BY EMPLOYING COLOR SEPARATION LENS ARRAY
An apparatus for acquiring images includes an image sensor and a signal processor. The image sensor may include a sensor substrate and a color separation lens array, wherein the sensor substrate includes a plurality of photo-sensing cells, and the color separation lens array may separate an incident light into a plurality of lights having different wavelengths and forms a phase distribution for condensing the plurality of lights having the different wavelengths on adjacent photo-sensing cells of the plurality of photo-sensing cells. The signal processor may perform deconvolution on sensing signals of the plurality of photo-sensing cells to obtain a sub-sampled image, perform demosaicing to restore a full resolution image having a full resolution from the sub-sampled image, and correct a color of the full resolution image using a point spread function (PSF) of the color separation lens array.
OPTICAL BAND-PASS FILTER WITH BLOCKED SIDEBANDS
The present invention proposes an optical band-pass filter with blocked sidebands. The filter comprises a photonic crystal structure based on macroporous silicon having a series of pores defined in the structure. The photonic crystal structure includes a resonator block (BR), comprising at least two periodicity groups (GR1, GR2) between which there is a resonant cavity (CR), wherein the resonant cavity (CR) is adapted to provide a resonance peak in the center of a non-transmitting frequency band of the resonator block (BR); and at least one of a high-pass block (BPA), adapted to block wavelengths below said non-transmitting frequency band; or a low-pass block (BPB), adapted to block wavelengths above said non-transmitting frequency band.
METALENS PORTION, ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHOD
The disclosure generally pertains to a metalens portion comprising a plurality of holes in a first substrate, wherein at least two holes of the plurality of holes differ in size, and wherein a refractive index of the metalens portion is defined by at least one of shape of the holes and an arrangement pattern of the holes, thereby providing a metalens.
Graded pore structure without phase mask
A method to form a three-dimensional photonic crystal template with a gradient structure involves irradiating a photoresist composition of a thickness of at least 15 μm from at least four laser beams to yield a periodic patterned with a percolating matrix of mass in constructive volumes of a cured photoresist composition and destructive volumes of voids free of condensed matter where the proportion of constructive volume displays a gradient from the irradiated surface to the substrate after development. For a given light intensity, photoinitiator concentration in the photoresist composition, and a given thickness, by irradiating for a relatively short period, a three-dimensional photonic crystal template displaying a gradient having greater constructive volume proximal the air interface forms and a relatively long irradiation period results in a gradient having greater constructive volume proximal the substrate.
