Provided is a black light-shielding member, which has an excellent effect of anti-reflection that based on low glossiness and has a high blackness. A black light-shielding member including a substrate film, a resin-made light-shielding layer having a concave-convex shape formed on at least one surface of the substrate film, and a blackened layer formed on the resin-made light-shielding layer is produced. By adjusting an arithmetic mean surface roughness Ra of the surface on which the light-shielding layer and the blackened layer are formed to be 0.25 μm or more, and the maximum thickness of the blackened layer is less than the said Ra, a blackness with an L value of 12 or less is achieved.

Methods to reduce microbridge defects in EUV patterning for microelectronic workpieces
11615958 · 2023-03-28 · ·

Embodiments reduce or eliminate microbridge defects in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) patterning for microelectronic workpieces. A patterned layer is formed over a multilayer structure using an EUV patterning process. Protective material is then deposited over the patterned layer using one or more oblique deposition processes. One or more material bridges extending between line patterns within the patterned layer are then removed while using the protective material to protect the line patterns. As such, microbridge defects caused in prior solutions are reduced or eliminated. For one embodiment, the oblique deposition processes include physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes that apply the same or different protective materials in multiple directions with respect to line patterns within the patterned layer. For one embodiment, the removing includes one or more plasma trim processes. Variations can be implemented.

LOW CONTRAST ANTI-REFLECTION ARTICLES WITH REDUCED SCRATCH AND FINGERPRINT VISIBILITY

Embodiments of articles including a low-contrast anti-reflection coating are disclosed. The coated surface of such articles exhibits a reduced difference in reflectance between a pristine state and when a surface defect is present. In one or more embodiments, the coated surface of such articles exhbits a first average reflectance in the range from about 0.6% to about 6.0% in a pristine condition and a second avearge reflectance of about 8% or less after removal of a surface thickness of the anti-reflection coating. In other embodiments, the coated substrate exhibits a second average reflectance of about 10% or less, when the coated surface comprises a contaminant. In some embodiments, the coated substrate exhibits a first color coordinate (a*.sub.1, b*.sub.1) in a pristine condition and a second color coordinate (a*2, b*2) after the presence of a surface defect such that Aa*b* is about 6 or less.

The present invention relates to a device and a method for limiting the output of a laser, wherein a reflecting device arranged in the optical path of a laser beam comprises a switching layer which comprises or consists of a material exhibiting a metal-insulator transition and a reflecting layer which is positioned downstream of the switching layer in the optical path of the laser beam, wherein the reflecting device is configured such that an output of the laser beam when it is incident upon the reflecting device which exceeds a predefined threshold causes a change in the refractive index of the material in the switching layer, and the output of the laser beam reflected by the reflecting device is thus reduced as compared to the output of the laser beam when it is incident upon the reflecting device due to reduced reflection by the reflecting device.
