A sofa that transitions between a sitting position and a sleeping position includes a frame with a bracket and multiple arms and support bases that allow the frame to move from the sitting position and the sleeping position, and the reverse, by allowing the multiple arms to rotate and support bases to rotate about the bracket at attachment points where the bracket and arms are connected by fasteners. A back support portion of the sofa may be hingedly moveable into first and second positions to reduce the vertical height of the back support to allow easier transport and movement of the sofa. The sofa may have a space or notch underneath that is configured to be fastened or otherwise affixed to a platform, such as a bump out in a recreational vehicle, to provide the sofa with a lower profile.

An assembly system used in sofa bed comprises first and second connecting rod assemblies and a member bar combination, which is composed of a plurality of member bars, each member bar is respectively connected with the first connecting rod assembly and with the second connecting rod assembly directly in a removable way. The member bars are respectively connected with the first connecting rod assembly and with the second connecting rod assembly in the form of primary-secondary rod. The assembly system allows to simply transport a frame of a sofa bed in three parts, which substantially saves the space for transportation and storage; at the same time, the three parts of the assembly system are mounted and connected very easily.

A sofa bed is convertible to a bunk bed using a base frame assembly; an upper bunk assembly to be disposed on the base frame assembly in a seating position and to be disposed above the base frame assembly in a bunk bed position; a front link and a rear link pivotally attached to the base frame assembly and the upper bunk assembly, alternative embodiments adding a flange plate secured to the rear link with a motor, cable, drive, screw and drive assembly, or adding a torsion spring assembly, or substituting vertical scissors mechanism for the links or substituting telescoping supports for the link assemblies.

A foldable sofa-bed includes: a base having a cavity; a bed with a seat section and a subseat section, each of the seat section and the subseat section including a cushion and an underlying panel; and a bed folding mechanism attached to the base, subseat and seat. The bed folding mechanism is configured to move the bed between a folded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are generally horizontally disposed and positioned in vertically stacked relationship in the cavity of the base, with the seat and subseat cushions facing upwardly, and an unfolded position, in which the seat and subseat sections are horizontally disposed and aligned to form a sleeping surface.

A bed assembly and method of use for connecting a foldable bed frame to the back support of a sofa. The assembly includes a first slotted link attached to the back support and a double slotted link affixed to the foldable bed frame. An L-shaped adjustment link defining a plurality of apertures is slidably connected to the slotted link and pivotably connected to the double slotted link whereby folding the bed frame causes the back support to displace along the first slotted link. Depending on whether the foldable bed frame is being removed from or inserted into the storage cavity within the sofa, the displacement of the back support along the slotted link causes the space between the bed frame and the back support to change.

A self-locking mechanism and a folding sofa are provided. The self-locking mechanism includes a support member, a locking member, a drive member and a switch member. The support member has a first end and a second end opposite to each other. The locking member has a first connection portion and a locking portion, and the first connection portion of the locking member is pivotally connected to the first end of the support member. One end of the drive member is pivotally connected to the first connection portion of the locking member. The switch member has a second connection portion and a switch portion, where the second connection portion of the switch member is pivotally connected to the second end of the support member and the other end of the drive member.

Embodiments provide a foldable sofa bed. In the embodiments, the foldable sofa bed includes a foldable bed frame consisting of a first folding frame and a second folding frame.

The invention relates to a folding framework for a piece of folding furniture such as a sofa bed, as well as a piece of folding furniture comprising this framework. The framework included a substantially rectangular head support mattress frame; a substantially rectangular upper body support mattress frame; a substantially rectangular lower body support mattress frame; a first hinge fixedly connected to the head support mattress frame; an elongated base beam provided in a longitudinal axis of the framework in the unfolded state; a head support coupling; a body support coupling; a front lever coupling; a rear lever coupling; a synchronization coupling; a second hinge; a pull lever; a locking coupling; a lever coupling; a foot section; and, a foot synchronization coupling.

Embodiments provide a foldable sofa bed. In the embodiments, the foldable sofa bed includes a sofa frame, a foldable bed frame and at least one folding support assembly; the foldable bed frame comprises a first folding frame and a second folding frame, and the at least one folding support assembly is mounted at a location where the first folding frame and the second folding frame are connected; each side of the sofa frame is provided with a rotary connector configured for connecting the first folding frame, and the first folding frame is capable to be unfolded towards a front of the sofa frame, to easily convert the sofa into a bed; the foldable bed frame is in a folded state; the foldable bed frame is in a folded state, the second folding frame is provided over the first folding frame by the folding support assembly.
