Fiber Organizer
A method organizes fibers. A plurality of fibers is received into a first assembly. An initial sequence of the plurality of fibers in the first assembly is obtained. A set of key combinations is identified from the initial sequence and a predetermined sequence. A second assembly is slid across the first assembly. The set of key combinations is actuated to move the plurality of fibers from the first assembly to the second assembly and order the plurality of fibers in the second assembly in the predetermined sequence.
HARDENED OPTICAL POWER CONNECTION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a hardened power and optical connection system for use with hybrid cables. The hardened power and optical connection system includes electrical pin and socket contacts for providing power connections, and ferrules for providing optical connections. The hardened power and optical connection system has an integrated fiber alignment provided through a mating relationship between a plug and a socket.

In one embodiment, the device comprises a shell, at least one connection port, at least one securing feature passageway, and at least one securing feature. The at least one connection port is disposed on the multiport with the at least one connection port comprising an optical connector opening extending from an outer surface of the multiport to a cavity of the multiport and defining a connection port passageway. The at least one securing feature is associated with the connection port passageway, and the at least one securing feature is disposed within a portion of the at least one securing feature passageway.
FIBER OPTIC FURCATION ASSEMBLIES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS
A fiber optic furcation assembly includes a main fiber optic cable structure, a plurality of furcation tubes, and a housing with a cavity including a transition portion. A plurality of optical fibers each continuously and uninterruptedly extends through an end portion of a jacket of the main fiber optic cable structure, the transition portion of the cavity of the housing, and a respective one of the plurality of furcation tubes. In one embodiment, the cavity includes a securing portion including a plurality of protrusions. The plurality of protrusions defines a plurality of locating channels and at least one securing channel that intersects the locating channels. Bonding material is positioned within the securing channel and bonds the plurality of furcation tubes to the plurality of protrusions. In another embodiment, a cable mount includes a housing attachment, a cable jacket attachment, and a passage. The housing attachment is mounted within a port of the housing. Each optical fiber also extends through the passage of the cable mount, respectively.
Apparatus and methods for non-contact damping of optical fiber vibration
The apparatus for non-contact damping vibration of a vibrating optical fiber moving over an optical fiber path includes an air bearing and an air supply. The air bearing includes a body having an aperture defined by an inner surface and a central axis that passes through the center of the aperture and along which lies the optical fiber path. A plurality of nozzles is distributed around the inner surface and directed toward the central axis. An air conduit within the body is in pneumatic communication with the plurality of nozzles. The air supply is pneumatically connected to the air conduit and is configured to supply pressurized air to the air bearing. The pressurized air is directed through the nozzles to the vibrating optical fiber and impinges on the optical fiber to damp the vibration of the vibrating optical fiber.
Fiber optic connectors and connectorization employing adhesive admitting adapters
Fiber optic connectors, connector housings, connectorized cable assemblies, and methods for the connectorization of cable assemblies are provided with particular cable adapter features, adapter extensions, multi-diametrical sealing flexures, subcutaneous sealing elements, and combinations thereof, for improved connector and cable performance, integrity, and durability.
Methods for bonding stranded cable subunits to central member
Bundled cables and methods for preparing bundled cable are disclosed herein. In the method, a plurality of subunits is wound about a central member. The subunits include a subunit jacket made of a first thermoplastic composition and has a first outer surface, and the central member includes a central member jacket made of a second thermoplastic composition and has a second outer surface. A metal element is provided at an interface of the second outer surface and the first outer surface of the subunits. The metal element is heated such that at least one of the first thermoplastic composition or the second thermoplastic composition forms bonds with the other of the first thermoplastic composition or the second thermoplastic composition.
Multiports and other devices having keyed connection ports and securing features and methods of making the same
Devices such as multiports comprising connection ports with associated securing features and methods for making the same are disclosed. The connection port passageway defines a keying portion. The at least one securing feature is associated with the connection port passageway, and the at least one securing feature is disposed within a portion of the at least one securing feature passageway.
