MID-SPAN CONSOLIDATORS FOR AERIAL CABLES
Mid-span consolidators for consolidating aerial cables are provided. A mid-span consolidator includes an inner bushing. The inner bushing extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end and defines a length. The inner bushing further defines a plurality of slots, each of the plurality of slots extending between the first end and the second end and configured to accept one of the plurality of cables. The mid-span consolidator further includes an outer cover surrounding the inner bushing. The outer cover extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end and defines a length.
Optical fiber cable and method of manufacturing optical fiber cable
An optical fiber cable includes: a core; an outer filling disposed outside the core; and a sheath that covers the core and the outer filling. The core includes: optical fibers; an inner filling; and a wrapping tube that wraps the optical fibers and the inner filling. The outer filling and the inner filling absorb water.
Blocking an Optical Fiber in a Fiber Optic Cable
It is disclosed a method for coupling an optical fiber to a fiber optic cable, the fiber optic cable comprising a sheath surrounding an optical core comprising a buffer tube, the optical fiber being loosely contained in the buffer tube. The method comprises: cutting the sheath for a predetermined length thereof and exposing a corresponding portion of the optical core extending outward beyond a butt of the cut sheath; cutting the buffer tube of the exposed optical core and exposing a portion of the optical fiber; using a blocking tube to at least partially surround a section of the exposed portion of the optical fiber; and injecting a sealant into the blocking tube to lock the optical fiber within the blocking tube and couple the optical fiber to the fiber optic cable.
DROP WIRE CLAMP AND METHOD OF USE
A drop wire clamp to secure a cable that comprise an outer shell and an inner wedge. The outer shell having a first wall, a second wall, and a shell base to couple the first wall with the second wall. The shell base further defines a shell channel. The inner wedge is receivable in the outer shell and movable between a first position and a second position within the outer shell. The inner wedge has a wedge base defining a wedge channel, wherein the shell channel aligns with the wedge channel in the second position to form a containment structure to house a cable therein. The containment structure includes a length dimension and a width dimension, wherein the length dimension is greater than the width dimension and the length dimension extends in a same direction as the first wall and second wall of the outer shell.

FLEXIBLE ORGANIZER AND SELF-SUPPORTING UNIT
The present disclosure relates to a fiber management device or system for facilitating routing and storing optical fibers. The fiber management device includes a flexible, film-like substrate that has optical fiber management, storing functionality, and splicing functionality all on one film-like substrate. The flexible, film-like substrate can provide a routing path for routing optical fibers onto a flexible planar substrate that can be temporarily supported by, mounted on or attached to the flexible planar substrate. The flexible, film-like substrate can accommodate fibers that are in a multi-fiber (e.g., ribbon) configuration or a single fiber configuration.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DISTRIBUTING FIBER OPTIC TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES TO LOCAL AREAS AND FOR SUPPORTING DISTRIBUTED ANTENNA SYSTEMS
A fiber optic network includes a fiber distribution hub including at least one splitter and a termination field; a plurality of drop terminals optically connected to the fiber distribution hub by a plurality of distribution cables; and a distributed antenna system (DAS). The DAS includes a base station and a plurality of antenna nodes. The base station is optically connected to the fiber distribution hub and the antenna nodes are optically connected to the drop terminals. Example splitters include a passive optical power splitter and a passive optical wavelength splitter. Signals from a central office can be routed through the passive optical power splitter before being routed to subscriber locations optically connected to the drop terminals. Signals from the base station can be routed through the wavelength splitter before being routed to the antenna nodes.
MOUNTING BRACKET SYSTEM FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT
A fiber optic system includes an enclosure and a mounting bracket that cooperate to define a mechanical coupling interface including a slide interface and a snap-fit interface. The slide interface allows the enclosure to mount to the bracket along a first dimension and retains the enclosure at the bracket along second and third dimensions that are transverse to the first dimension and transverse to each other. The snap-fit interface, once triggered, retains the enclosure at the bracket alone the first dimension.
Device and method for aerially suspending an optical cable termination box
Device having a support for aerially suspending an optical fiber termination box to which an optical cable is routed. Features of the device are adapted to transfer cable load to the support thereby bypassing the optical fiber termination box, which can help to prevent damage to the optical fiber termination box and the optical fibers it supports.
Cable storage wheels
A cable storage wheel for communication cables is provided. The cable storage wheel has a channel that receives the communication cable and a plurality of cable tie features. The cable tie features are positioned for receipt of cable ties to secure the communication cable in the channel in a manner that minimizes or eliminates contact between the wire ties and the communication cable. In this manner, the cable storage wheel is configured and designed to encourage the user to wrap the wire ties around the storage wheel and, not the communication cable. The cable tie features are, in some embodiments, slots, notches, openings, channel supports, and any combinations thereof.
