The telephoto optical imaging system includes, sequentially from an object side to an image side along an optical axis, a first lens having positive refractive power, a second lens having negative refractive power, an optical path turning prism, and a triangular prism. A total effective focal length F1 of the telephoto optical imaging system may satisfy F1>40 mm. The zoom camera apparatus includes the telephoto optical imaging system and a short-focus optical imaging system arranged in parallel with the telephoto optical imaging system. A total effective focal length F1 of the telephoto optical imaging system and a total effective focal length F2 of the short-focus optical imaging system satisfy F1/F2>5.

METHOD FOR CO-LOCATING DISSIMILAR OPTICAL SYSTEMS IN A SINGLE APERTURE

The system and method for combining two optical assemblies into the same volume, particularly when the field of view of the two assemblies are different, so that the overall volume and size, weight and power (SWaP) for the system is reduced. This also allows both subsystems (e.g., narrow field of view (NFOV) and wide field of view (WFOV) to use a single aperture and the same external protective window, reducing overall cost for a system of co-located dissimilar optical systems in a single aperture.

Projection television device and screen

A front projection display device is provided including an image-generating source configured to generate an image, a wide angle lens system adapted to receive the image, and a screen. The wide angle lens system may be configured to increase distortion of the image in a first stage and decrease distortion of the image in a second stage. The screen may be configured to receive the image from the wide angle lens system on a first side and reflect the image back to a viewer on the first side. In another embodiment, a screen is provided for a front projection system, the screen may be configured to receive light from a steep angle and may include any number of surface topographies configured to reflect light back to the viewer along a desired viewing plane.

Method of making optical films and stacks

Methods of making optical films and optical stacks are described. A method of making an optical lens molded to a first curved optical film includes providing a first optical film including alternating first and second polymeric layers; providing a thermoform tool having a curved surface; heating and conforming the first optical film to the curved surface to form a first curved optical film; and molding an optical lens onto the first curved optical film.

Unobscured two-mirror catadioptric optical system for a multispectral imaging apparatus

An optical system in which an aggressively compact reflective front end is combined with beam splitting elements and refractive relay optics to allow several imaging systems working in widely different wavelength bands to share a common aperture. The aggressively compact design results in significant field curvature at the uncorrected intermediate or virtual focus, which is corrected in the refractive relay optics for each band's imaging path.

IMAGING OPTICAL SYSTEM, PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE, AND IMAGING APPARATUS

The imaging optical system forms a first intermediate image at a position conjugate to a magnification side imaging surface and a second intermediate image at a position closer to a reduction side than the first intermediate image on an optical path and conjugate to the first intermediate image. The imaging optical system consists of a first optical system, a second optical system, and a third optical system in order from the magnification side to the reduction side along the optical path. The imaging optical system does not include a reflective member having a power.

OPTICAL SYSTEM

An optical system includes a partial reflector having an average optical reflectance of at least 30% in a plurality of wavelengths, an image source disposed to emit image light toward the partial reflector, and a reflective polarizer disposed proximate the partial reflector. The reflective polarizer is curved about two orthogonal axes and can include at least one layer substantially optically uniaxial at at least one location.
