FLAT LENS IMAGING DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
20170310907 · 2017-10-26 ·

Disclosed herein are electronic devices having flat lenses. The flat lens may be combined with an infrared (IR) emitter, an IR sensor, or an image sensor, and/or one or more additional optical lenses or filters. The flat lens may provide a more compact footprint over a conventional curved optical lens. Additionally, the flat lens may be configured to bend light instantaneously, rather than gradually as the light passes through the lens. This may be advantageous in reducing the number of optical lenses within the electronic device and/or size (e.g., thickness) of the overall lens arrangement (as well as the size of the overall electronic device), therein allowing for a more compact configuration for the electronic device.

Two way omnidirectional lens

An omnidirectional lens is disclosed of the type which captures light from virtually all angles of incidence, and also emits light in all directions. Embodiments are specifically disclosed as a two-way lens that receives light beams from all directions of the compass and directs those light beams to a photosensor. The same two-way lens acts in a “beacon mode” to produce light beams from one or more LEDs, and to emit such light beams (again) in all directions of the compass. The emitted light beams can also be used to signal various functions as visible signals to users on a jobsite.

CAMERA HAVING INFRARED RAY REFLECTOR

A camera, including a lens assembly and a plurality of infrared ray (IR) light sources arranged around the lens assembly, has a photographing target area classified as a main irradiation area and an external irradiation area. The main irradiation area is set not to exceed a half-power angle of the IR light sources. The external irradiation area is set to exceed the half-power angle of the IR light sources. A reflector is installed corresponding to the IR light sources. IRs reflected by the reflector reach the external irradiation area.

Device for camouflaging an object from infrared and low light cameras

A device is provided for camouflaging an object from an infrared detection apparatus. The device includes a cloak positionable between the object and the infrared detection apparatus. The cloak includes a layer of infrared absorptive material including a plurality of silicon nanowires. A flexible substrate has a first surface operatively connected to an inner surface of the layer. The substrate includes a heat dissipation arrangement for dissipating heat generated by the cloak during operation. An array of infrared emitters is operatively connected to a second surface of the substrate. The array of infrared emitters selectively radiates an infrared pattern to disguise the object to the infrared detection apparatus.
