A microscope system for imaging at least one region of a sample includes: an image generating unit for microscopic imaging of a section of a sample region to be imaged acquired in an observation beam path; a movement unit for moving the section to be imaged into the observation beam path of the image generating unit; a graphic user interface displayed on a display for establishing a movement range corresponding to the sample region to be imaged by way of at least one user input, the graphic user interface displaying a coordinate system and, after input of at least one point in the displayed coordinate system, the movement range is established as a defined movement volume; and a control unit for activating the movement unit as a function of the defined movement volume so as to approach a set of sections corresponding to the defined movement volume in succession.

Image reproducing device and observation system for selecting images using tag information attached in accordance with information that operation is performed on sample and input when at least one of images is acquired

An image reproducing device includes one or more processors. The processor acquires image group data including a plurality of images and tag information on at least one tag. The images relate to a biological sample along time series. The tag information relates to an operation on the biological sample and is associated with at least part of the images. The processor selects from the plurality of images using the tag information, images to be reproduced along the time series as reproduction selected images. The processor outputs to a display, data relating to the images for the reproduction selected images to be reproduced along time series.

System and method for rapid focusing and analysis using a micro-camera array microscope

An imaging system is configured with an autofocus operation that refocuses multiple cameras of the imaging system on detected features of interest, instead of on the whole image of the sample. Focus measures are calculated on the detected features, and then aggregated to focus distances of actuator moving the camera array, the sample stage, or individual cameras based on a maximization of detected features to be in focus. After the refocus, the imaging system recaptures new images and analyzes features on the new images to generate statistical characterization of the sample based on the classification of the features.
