An extendable modular bed includes a frame assembly and a plurality of support units which are mounted on the frame assembly. In each of the support units, two retaining shells are detachably mounted on the frame assembly, two outer tubes are respectively and slidably retained by the retaining shells and are slidably sleeved on two end segments of an inner tube, two positioning members are respectively and detachably coupled to the retaining shells for respectively positioning the outer tube, and two spring-loaded buttons are mounted inside the inner tube to respectively extend out of two through holes of the inner tube for further positioning the outer tubes.

A foundation for a bed system can include an actuator, a deck mechanism operably related to the actuator so as to be actuated between raised and lowered positions in response to actuation by the actuator, and a controller operably connected to the actuator and configured to drive the actuator to actuate the deck mechanism between a lower position and an upper position. The deck mechanism can be configured to move to a service position that is further than the upper position. The deck mechanism can expose and permit access to a serviceable component when the deck mechanism is in the service position. A method of using a foundation having a service position is also described.

A head elevation apparatus configured to be positioned under a mattress may include a base panel and a top panel positioned on the base panel. The top panel may include a center panel hingedly coupled to the base panel. An upper flap may be hingedly coupled to the center panel. A lower flap may be hingedly coupled to the center panel.

A frame unit includes first and second bars spaced apart from each other, third bars disposed between the first and second bars, and connectors removably connecting the third bars with the first and second bars. A connector includes a body fixedly connected with the first or second bar, a casing defining an interior to receive an end of a third bar, and a slot allowing insertion of the end of the third bar into the casing. The interior defined by the casing has narrow and wide sides corresponding to the narrow and wide sides of the end of the third bar. As such, when the end of the third bar is inserted into the casing, the end of the third bar is prevented from any translational movement within the casing. A modular bed includes a base frame unit and a plurality of support frame units mounted on the base frame unit to be displaced from each other. Each of the support frame units has a lead bar, a trailing bar, four mounting frames, a support panel, and four bent leaf springs each coupling the support panel to a respective one of the mounting frames so as to provide cushioning effect for the support panel in response to movement of the support panel from an unloaded position to a loaded position.

Disclosed are support assemblies and foldable bed frames. A foldable bed frame includes a support assembly, first and second frame units, first and second holders. The first frame unit includes a first frame section pivotally connected with the support assembly and a first leg assembly pivotally connected with the first frame section. The second frame unit includes a second frame section pivotally connected with the support assembly and a second leg assembly pivotally connected with the second frame section. The first and second holders are fixedly coupled with the support assembly, and abut the first and second frame sections when the foldable bed frame is unfolded. When folded, the first and second frame sections are disposed substantially parallel to each other with the first and second leg assemblies disposed at exterior sides of the first and second frame sections.
