The binocular bridge system is configured to couple two night vision monoculars together, effectively providing the user with a binocular night vision system. An example binocular bridge system comprises a bridge, two hinged arms, and two dummy battery inserts. Each dummy battery insert is configured to be positioned within the battery compartment of a night vision monocular and conductively connect it to a power source housed within the bridge. In some implementation, each hinged arm of the binocular bridge system includes an objective alignment ring. The hinged arms of such a binocular bridge system, in conjunction with the objective alignment rings, are configured to mechanically collimate the night vision monoculars secured thereto.

INTERFACE FOR CONNECTING A MOBILE SUPPORT AND AN OPTICAL DEVICE, ASSOCIATED SYSTEM

The invention relates to an interface for connecting an optical device and a mobile support which cooperates securely with an imprinted element, the interface having a base arranged to be inserted into the imprinted element, the base being a hollow body. The base accommodates mechanical play compensating structures which are movably mounted within the hollow body so as to project and are arranged in order to bear against a wall of the imprinted element.

MODULAR BINOCULAR NIGHT VISION DEVICE

A modular binocular night vision device permits vision during low-light conditions by converting incoming near-infrared and visible light from a viewed scene to an intensified visible light image. The modular binocular night vision device comprises a pair of monocular housings, connected to one another by way of a bridge, that are arranged for respectively covering the right and left eye of an observer. Each monocular housing contains an identical optical system. An example modular binocular night vision device comprises: a bridge that includes a mechanical connection port on a top side thereof; and a mount module that includes a base and an onboard power source, the base is removably attachable to the mechanical connection port on the bridge and the onboard power source is adapted to provide power to the binocular night vision device. The mount module can be used to attach the modular binocular night vision device to a helmet.

Optical assembly for superimposing images from two or more sources
11032485 · 2021-06-08 · ·

An optical assembly allows video imagery to be imported into a night vision device and exported therefrom. The assembly can be an insert that is installed between the image tube and eyepiece of an existing night vision device to retrofit the device for superimposing images. Images imported—e.g., images captured by thermal detectors, maps, compass information, training video, etc.—are received wirelessly and injected into the optical train of the night vision device such that both the night vision scene from the goggle and the injected imagery can be simultaneously observed at the eyepiece. Combined images can be transmitted to external systems for observation purposes such as real-time active mission feedback. The insert provides sensor fusion and interconnection to the digital battlefield for presently-fielded night vision goggles. It receives power and optical information from the existing goggle. Goggles using this device can have full functionality and performance.
