Method for calibrating a binocular displaying device
11140376 · 2021-10-05 · ·

A calibrating method for calibrating the position of pictures on display elements of a binocular displaying device, the binocular displaying device comprising a right display element and a left display element to display right and left pictures. The method comprising a virtual markers displaying step, during which a right virtual marker and a left virtual marker are displayed respectively from the right display element and the left display element when the wearer uses the binocular displaying device, the right and left virtual markers being at least visually vertically alignable with a real world target at an alignment condition, and an aligning step, during which each of the right and left virtual markers are aligned with the real world target.

Weapon system with multi-function single-view scope

Certain aspects of a novel weapon sight system combine a direct view, a visible light video view, and an infrared (IR) video view mode. Each of the view modes may be viewed individually or simultaneously with one or more of the other view modes through a single viewing aperture. Further, the one or more view-modes may be provided while providing a bore-sighted reticle superimposed on the selected view. Further, the reticle may be powered separately from the video view electronics enabling use of the reticle regardless of the power status video view electronics.

Compact dynamic head up display

Head up displays are provided. A head up display may have a base adapted for mounting to a firearm; a window positioned by the base so that a user of the firearm can observe a field of view through the window; an illuminator operable to generate a divergent illumination light; a light valve configured to modulate the divergent illumination light in accordance with an image provided by an image generator; and a collimating optic in an optical path between the light valve and the window that substantially collimates the image modulated illumination light. The window reflects at least a portion of the image modulated collimated light so that the observer observes the image substantially in focus with objects in field of view. Images presented may include data and images, including but not limited to thermal images.

MULTI-RESOLUTION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY FOR HEAD-MOUNTED DISPLAY SYSTEMS

This disclosure describes a head-mounted display with a display assembly configured to display content to most or all of a user's field of view. The display assembly can be configured to display content in far-peripheral regions of the user's field of view differently than content upon which a user can focus. For example, spatial resolution, color resolution, refresh rate and intensity (i.e. brightness) can be adjusted to save resources and/or to bring attention to virtual content positioned within a far-peripheral region. In some embodiments, these changes can save processing resources without detracting from the user's overall experience.

Near-eye-display with rapid spherical image scanning
11092813 · 2021-08-17 ·

A near-eye display that employs rapid spherical image scanning using liquid crystal retarder with concentric imaging and optical elements comprising a display with spherically curved concave image surface topped with polarizer; a spherically curved liquid crystal retarder composite reflector having a see-thru mirror topped at the concave side with electronically controlled liquid crystal retarder strips; a see-thru spherically curved mirror-polarizer composite with mirror at the convex side and polarizer at the concave side; a frame to support, protect the device, and mount the device to the head.

Predictive eye tracking systems and methods for foveated rendering for electronic displays

Various aspects of the subject technology relate to prediction of eye movements of a user of a head-mountable display device. Predictive foveated display systems and methods, using the predicted eye movements are also disclosed. Predictive variable focus display systems and methods using the predicted eye movements are also disclosed. Predicting eye movements may include predicting a future gaze location and/or predicting a future vergence plane for the user's eyes, based on the current motion of one or both of the user's eyes. The predicted gaze location may be used to pre-render a foveated display image frame with a high-resolution region at the predicted gaze location. The predicted vergence plane may be used to modify an image plane of a display assembly to mitigate or avoid a vergence/accommodation conflict for the user.

Method and system for display and interaction embedded in a cockpit
11048079 · 2021-06-29 · ·

The invention relates to a method and system for display and interaction with an aircraft control system, intended for an aircraft pilot, embedded in a cockpit of the aircraft. The method is implemented by a system for display and interaction including a first so-called head-down man-machine interface and a second so-called head-up man-machine interface. The method includes determining a line of sight of the pilot, receiving a command to enter the frozen display mode and keeping at least part of the display on the second man-machine interface in a frozen position, independently of the pilot's line of sight, then displaying at least one complementary man-machine interface element, as a function of the pilot's line of sight, in at least one free area of the cockpit, and displaying a cursor representative of the pilot's line of sight.
